I've brewed up a new 40k RP

I'm not even confident that this forum has enough regulars anymore to get one of these off the ground, but just in the long shot that there could be I thought I'd post this. It's just a teaser for a game pitch that I'm working on. If there's enough interest I'll post more. http://i904.photobucket.co...

Re: First Dropzone Game

My advice to get other gamers to try out Dropzone would be to pick up the starter box, that way you can lend out an army. This lets people play a new game with zero investment, and most gamers will give it a go. The models that I picked up for the UCM are a pair of Falcon Gunships. Those are medium ...

First Dropzone Game

So my starter set finally arrived, and just as planned it was all painted up and ready to rock. I put out a call to a buddy of mine and had him come over to break in this new wargame. We butchered the actual rules on account of me being lazy with rulebook, but we got a clear enough picture of how a ...

Couldn't agree more. It's cool to collaborate, but always be able to write your way out.

Re: Your writing process

My process is based around creative steps rather than sitting down and pounding out an entire post in one day. The first step is working out of a word doc, which I label and put on my desktop to work in throughout the week whenever I have free time. Then I brainstorm with bullet points so I'll know ...

Re: Fool's Gold: A 40k Roleplay OOC

Chaos, how about you put up your log in the second post of the this thread on page one? If not there then maybe just post it right here? Either way I'd like to read what you've put together. Also I'm working on my next RP post, but I'd prefer at least two more other character posts to go up before I...

Re: Dropzone

Update: Starter set has been ordered. I sent the box to my painter so I can have beautiful models to play with as soon as this game eventually gets into my hands. I've been digging through videos and articles on this game and I'm stoked to get these models on the table. This may be the game that fin...

Re: Fool's Gold: A 40k Roleplay OOC

Sure, if you're up for it. If you would, make note of when a faction/race first reveals itself in battle. First ork battle, first Necron battle, ect. And roughly (if it can be determined) the scale & number of troops involved (dozens, hundreds, thousands?).

Re: Fool's Gold: A 40k Roleplay OOC

I worded myself poorly. I've read your post and know about your character change, what I meant was that you introduced the first ork vs Imperium battle. My character's fleet hasn't (but it soon will) jumped out of the warp near Valaris yet. But the the ork vs Imperium war will be underway (no ambush...

Re: Fool's Gold: A 40k Roleplay OOC

I was wondering if we should keep a battle log for the RP? Basically it would be a chronoligical list of significant battles & skirmishes that have happened on or near the planet Valaris Signor. I remember that Jack, Jason, & Cthulu have battled the Tau so far, but I don't remember the order they ha...

Re: Fool's Gold: A 40k Roleplay

Opinions tend to vary throughout the galaxy. Each intelligent species has their own values, their own fears, and their own ideas of what is truth . Too often these differences are so insurmountable, and so completely uncompromising, that genocidal war has been the only historical conclusion. But the...

Re: Dropzone

It reminds me of GW's Epic Armageddon, which was the range that brought me into miniature battle games. A childhood friend of mine had the starter set of Epic plus a few extra models and he would let my buddies and I play. By the time I could afford my own hobby Epic had died out, leaving only 40k a...

Can anyone here recommend Dropzone Commander? The starter kit looks pretty rad.

Re: WIP for Pre-Heresy Alpha Legion

The cover pic is purple, it's clearly described as purple, and it's from what most consider 'the' fluff piece on pre-Heresy Alpha Legion. I'd say that pretty much sums it up.

Re: WIP for Pre-Heresy Alpha Legion

Sure thing. "It was a space marine in full battle plate. The armour was purple, trimmed in silver, with green markings on the immense shoulder plates." From the book Legion , page 62 first paragraph. This was researched and written by Dan Abnett, the same author who defined the Alpha Legion Primarch...
