Re: Thousand Sons/Tzeentch WIP

Yeah, we certainly do lose the benefits from them being Rubric, but we haven't seen "cult havocs" since the 3.5 edition and it was purely an Emperor's Children thing (they could change their heavy weapons for Blast Masters, but they were less powerful than nowadays though). Something with potential ...

Re: Thousand Sons/Tzeentch WIP

Oh this all looks amazing! I love the weathering on your Rhinos! BTW, I believe that RAW nothing stops you from putting Havocs in your detachment as long as the common keyword is something compatible with all your units. Rubric Marines become troop choices when they get the Thousand Sons legion keyw...

Re: Sister's of battle?!

I think it's way more common than that. I remember there were quite a lot of stories with sisters falling to Chaos in CSM codices over the year. They were just not named by name. Taking into account that a whole bunch of higher members of the ecclersiarchy join Chaos all the time, it's believable th...

Re: Custom Chapter Name

My two favorite names are Celestial Spectres and Desert Wraiths. I think they are very fitting for Space Marines. If you go for Desert Wraiths, it might be interesting to make them a Raven Guard successor chapter and insist on their stealth/commando aspect. Celestial Spectres works for almost anythi...

They did say that most codex releases wouldn't have models released with them but some would
At least, I hope that the armies which are dragging old resin models from the 2nd and 3rd edition will get them replaced. And plastic Sisters are a necessity. There is a point where patience runs out.

Re: Under strength units

Oh that's odd, not sure I'd ever take a unit below its minimum strength in those circumstances For Chaos it can be useful if you want to put a terminator character inside a terminator squad and put them into a Land Raider instead of deep striking them. We don't have the LR Crusader, so we're stuck ...

Re: New codex's incoming

Chaos are getting their cult units redone, but besides the basic marines and havocs what really needs updating is the character range. They have released new Ahriman and Kharn, as well as some great-looking Exalted Sorcerers of Tzeentch, and Cypher as part of the Gathering Storm box. But look at th...

Re: Who's Demons I should choose?

The relation between Khorne and Tzeentch is more difficult fluffwise. While they don't have an absolute and uncompromising opposition like between Tzeentch and Nurgle or Khorne and Slaanesh, they openly despise each others. Khorne sees Tzeentch as a craven and a weakling who uses cowardly underhande...

Re: New codex's incoming

As a Grey Knights player, I'm not complaining at all. I got lucky on the wheel of codex releases with two of my factions getting updates first. ;) It's often a two edged sword. In the past, the first codices had a tendancy of being written with restraint, but were quickly followed by an increasingl...

Re: Who's Demons I should choose?

I voted for Tzeentch because I'm a shameless Tzeentch follower since 2001. :P More seriously, I think they are a lot of fun and play a bit differently than other gods which make them more unique. The new Lord of Tzeentch looks trully glorious and only Blood Thirsters look as good. Unfortunately, the...

Re: New FAQ update. Some good clarifications, one HUGE change.

The change on template weapons also mean that swarms no longer take 2 wounds for each wound done by template weapons and they are less reliable at damaging large units. There are few hard counters left against large numbers of multiwound swarm models.

Re: New codex's incoming

It would be low, even by GW standards, to just release imperial and chaos codex this year. There will certainly be at least a few Xenos codices among the 10 released this year. By example, in the 7th ed, the Orks were first and they released Necrons and Eldars fairly quickly.

Ok, thanks for the info on the Stormraven/fang scourge. I now understand why they are powerful.

in your face tournament player with 4 to 5 stormraven/stomwolf/stormfang Well played GW. Now they'll only be used for what they're meant for - fire support and transport! I actually applaud this! Yeah, I think GW are starting to see that no matter how much they try and dissuade it, WAAC players wil...

Re: Questions about two games?

Bolt Action is a great game. I like just about everything they have done with it. The minis keep getting better and better. They are also a great value for your money. The rules are very solid. I also like that when they updated to second edition they only changed the core rule book and 1 army book...
