Re: drop pod question

MicroElite Didn't we have this same conversation on Thetyranidhive? Under the rules for deep strike, it says: "... If any of the models in a deep striking unit cannot be deployed because it would be outside the table, on top of impassible terrain, on top of a friendly model, or on top or within 1" ...

Re: drop pod question

Except the rules explicity say we get protection from one and not the other. The wording mentions ' on top ' as the trigger point, it doesn't reduce the scatter to avoid landing 'on top'. It reduces scatter to 'avoid the obstacle' . To me that is an important distinction as the 1 inch buffer is par...

Re: drop pod question

I also 2 questions about drop pods: If a Pod lands in terrain and fails its dangerous terrain test, does that mean that its weapon is destroyed, and that's all? Do the occupants have to take dangerous terrain tests? Question 1: Yes it would loose it's weapon. Question 2: Only if the terrain is clas...

Re: drop pod question

Not to pop your imaginary bubble but lets start with inconsistent fluff. If this guidance system was so awesome at bringing marines safely into battle then why how it be able to avoid terrain, troops, vehicles, etc but not the edge of the world. Second thing is no where in the description of the gu...

Re: drop pod question

I was reading the the drop pod's guidance system. The way it is worded seems like it would mishap if it lands next to enemy units. It reads as saying reduce scatter to avoid landing on top of impassible terrain or other models. I assumed it was impassible terrain around enemy models when not assaul...

Re: Gargoyles: yes or no?

This is the only good picture of most of my rocket gaunts (with a single gargoyle) in their transport/storage case.

Re: Gargoyles: yes or no?

Yes, converted gaunts make good gargoyles. I have 32 rocket gaunts that are cheaper and less fragile. Still have to take a picture of the complete brood with finished bases.

Re: Ripper Swarms

I like to go with 3 rippers per base for two reasons. First is that rippers only come with other units as spare bits so this makes them rare. Second is that they have a large enough base you can put other things with them like dead biomass in the form of marines, tau, eldar, orcs, or even civilians...

I love those little gaunts. Cheap practice pieces for painting or modeling.
