Re: 40k seige game

Mantic battlezones perhaps? Modular, plastic, and they make a few kits that are even designed to be used as fortress walls

Re: 8th Edition 'balance' predictions

I think it'd be hard not to improve things from the current state. The end result might take a while to shake out. The state of life for both infantry and large models is changing. A marine gets a save against a lascannon. Orks actually get to use their t shirt save. Big guys have a million wounds, ...

My theory about not being able to take the armour off is that he's got a bit of Phoenix Lord in him now. He's like Asurmen's cousin now

Now that you mention it, the style is quite similar.

Re: Most radical Space Marine Chapters ?

Relictors. These guys went around looting daemon weapons, trying to use them against their previous owners until the grey knights showed up and wrecked their fortress monastery. A few of them supposedly survived and that's kinda where they left the story. To be continued. Maybe.

Re: Save Money on Storing your army

Fortinos (a grocery store around here) has been selling cooler bags for about 8 bucks that hold about 2 of the old gw cases worth of foam. As for the foam, for years I've been making my own by getting a camping foam pad, a pack of dollar store exacto knives and just going to town

Dual kits. They have an entire set of extra bits for a completely alternate configuration. Sometimes a bit pricy though

Re: Anywhere to play in Toronto?

Yup, x planet's good. Known the owner for ages and he runs a tight ship. There's also meeplemart downtown and Lords of war in Oakville. EDIT: Dunno why I didn't mention it earlier (derp), but I sometimes venture down to x planet myself and recently started infinity so if you wanted to set up a game ...

Re: Pin Vice

I have the old GW one and it's given me over a decade of exemplary service. But that was before they came out with the current generation of tools. Also, consider getting two. Seriously. You can load a small bit into one for making pilot holes and then widen them without having to switch bits.

Re: new flyers for marines and orks

Well, you can't say they're not giving customers what they want with the Marine one. Even if all that meant was doing a quick Google search on how people modded the original kit. The ork one is hideously ugly in the best way possible. It reminds me of an ork made Fairey Gannet for any aviation buffs...

Khartoth, the blood thirsty: +1S, AP3, If a model suffers an unsaved wound remove it from the game. At the beginning of the model controller's turn roll a D6. With 4+ the model comes back to play via Deep strike, at 12" or less from the point it was removed from game. Haha. I can't help but picture...

Re: What was your worst/fiddly kit to put together?

I think the fiddliness of wyrd kits is due to the combination of CAD and plastic. With plastic moulding, you generally can't have undercuts in the mould. Neither the mould or the finished product are flexible, so you can't have anything get trapped when you remove it. There are 2 solutions to this. ...

Re: The Core Rules are Free! Also, there's an errata in all

Most of the stuff they decided to nerf was punching above its weight in a way that caused a negative experience for opposing players, either making for easy scenario wins or shutting down a big model with a disproportionately small one. At the same time, they decided to give a boost to some of the w...

Re: The Core Rules are Free! Also, there's an errata in all

They publish one faiurky often, but its usually just correcting typos or something. Larger changes like these do happen though. Epic asphyxious has had his feat nerfed a couple times, shifting stone teleports got capped at 1 per turn per unit, rhyas got reach on her sword and I'm sure there have bee...
