Re: Army Painter Primer Issues

Try running the can under warm water for a few minutes before you prime. That can help a lot in cold weather.

Re: Army Painter Primer Issues

Sounds to me like you're priming in bad weather. What's the weather like in your current area? It's also possible you just got a bad can.

Re: Frozen paints

There's really only one way to find out, and that's trying them. Honestly the worst that I think could happen would be separation. Just make sure to give them a real good shake.

Re: Vallejo liquid gold

It dries almost instantly, so yes you can shade it with acrylic paints. The only problems you'll run into is trying to mix it WITH acrylic paints.

Also, how do you mean color recipes?

Re: Sniperfex's completed projects

Looks good dude. I like that you painted some of the panels a lighter shade of blue - I do the same thing on Battletech miniatures to break up the monotony.

Re: Vallejo pigments

You have to seal them in place with a varnish, or a specific pigment sealer after they have dried. So you are saying that I have to apply my pigment wet then while wet I use a varnish? No. There's a lot of different ways to apply pigments, in both cases you should seal them with varnish when they'r...

Re: Vallejo paints replacing old citadel paints

VGC was meant to be a substitute to GW paints (in a sense), so they match very closely.

Re: Help with Strategy - 50 pts Khador

Your core list looks pretty solid, but I think you could make a couple tweaks. I've never been a fan of the Widowmaker Marksman - I personally feel like he doesn't add anything worth two points to the unit. I think the two points would be better off buying a Destroyer for the Kovnik instead of the J...

Re: Miniature holder?

I just use an old prescription medication bottle with a chunk of poster tac on it. I don't know what they're using in the videos, but you could also buy a 'helping hand':

Re: Primer peeling

Did you wash the model with warm soapy water? They use an agent to help release the models from the molds after they are cast, and if you don't wash them the primer will peel off fairly easy. Also, make sure to wash your hands before handling the model, because natural oils from your hand will do th...

Re: Primer?

Depends on the colors you are painting the model. There could be a difference in shading between the front and back. Not sure how much. I would think that very dark colors would not be as problematic. If you are painting them black-prob not an issue, white on the otherhand... Pretty much this. Hone...

Re: Who's your favorite YouTube miniature painter?

I like the ThePaintingClinic, he's odd but I like that I remember reading his articles way back on his website. I was really (pleasantly) surprised when I saw he had a YouTube channel. I also like GirlPainting too, have been subbed to her for probably the longest out of all the channels I subscribe...
