Re: Tzeentch Fantasy Army

If you're still taking suggestions on the Shaggoth, adding some tentacles would be sufficient, but if you can sculpt some extra eyes or mouth (with fangs), all the better. The stomach area has a good amount of space, although it would be obscured by the arms and weapon... unless you wished to conver...

Re: conversion critique needed

The tentacles add a bit more of a chaosy feel to it. Very scary.

Re: Minor Mortenebra Conversion (WMH-Cryx)

Warmachine, specifically the Cryx faction.

I really like the fact that she is a warjack-focused caster, means I don't have to buy and paint a shit-tonne of trooper units, just some warjacks.

Minor Mortenebra Conversion (WMH-Cryx)

Instead of painting this week, I ended up spending time assembling Mortenbra & Derilyss (Cryx warcaster and character skarlock). I hate the stock pose for Morty, so i put her off for the better part of a year or so. Then in a fit of inspiration (a string of really bad dice rolls), I facepalmed... .....

Re: Infinity Terrain

I've been looking into building my own terrain sets. Some of the players bought Micro_arts during kickstarter or other promotions and have a lot, but I don't have that kind of cash. Even after getting my security deposit back yesterday. I figured with 6 sheets of 1/8 balsa wood and 10' or so of squa...

Re: Bronzeback40's POTW

Thank you. If I could figure out a way to get rid of the spottiness from sealing, I'd be even happier. I'm overall happy with the shading and highlighting on the purples. It's a step beyond my previous attempts with the color; all the highlights ended up too pink for my tastes. With this, i think I ...

Re: Bronzeback40's POTW

Well, good news and bad news. Bad news: Got sidetracked by personal issues for much of the week. Reaper Bones mini not finished. Bronzeback40's POTW

Hoorah! I started my new job three weeks ago. Amongst other things, I now work less than 10 hours per day and even get days off! (What a concept, right?) Part of my free time will include getting back into painting after a couple months off. Fist thing was to shake up my paint pots to get the pigmen...

Re: Minx Studio- Painting Log!

Some of the little details are simply brilliant. Keep it up.

Just a quick rules question: Are Chaos warrior armies allowed to summon in daemons again? (Out of Loop...)

Re: Nurgle Chaos Lord

personally I like the gold helm, but the thing I would change is make his boils more yellow-y , green doesnt fit for me and adds nice contrast :D Agreed. The gold helm looks good, but it's a bit clean-looking for Nurgle. A quick glaze of thinned-down brown ink would dirty it up nicely. The boils, I...

Re: Help with Shading

Don't know if it's too late for advice, but I would recommend stripping it in Pine-Sol and starting fresh. The shades might not be the best thing for such a large model. They're much better for models with a lot of details to them (Wraithlords are pretty smooth as I recall). For such a smooth model,...

Re: Butcher 3 is coming :D

That makes sense... combining focus and fury would have been a beeyatch. Interesting caster. Makes me dislike the continuous model creep of the game, even if I do enjoy playing.

Re: Dwarf with winter theme + my very first model vs my late

Nice progress. Sometimes comparing older minis to more recent efforts is a good way to gain a bit of confidence. My only real complaint about your recent dwarf is that it could use a bit of contrast between the bronze and blue on the shield; a bit of lining, maybe a highlight effect or two to break ...
