Re: Starting Hordes Question

The troll one is fun, but would be better with an Impaler to give those crucial extra 6" of range, and would be the recommended first addition to a journeyman league player. I 100% hate the minion one. So rarely will you use 2 Warhogs, but I get why they did it that way since it's the plastic beast....

Re: Borka Kegslayer!... Now what?

A really fun thing to do is run pGrissel and either yell "hoof it" at them, have them bull rush slam to adjust the board and kill stuff, then move into better position. The feat is so great in that everything in control at that time gets an extra attack then a movement phase after all activations. B...

Re: Borka Kegslayer!... Now what?

Long Riders all day every day, especially with Horthol. It's an expensive combo, but man does it hit hard and move the board around.

It's only 2 units plus hero. Oh and I'd suggest at least 1000pts.

Re: Starting Hordes Question

The other option is to get the WarRoom app (Privateer Press' official assistance app for the game) and browse through the battlebox cards and proxy with people until you figure out what you want to play. Most should be fine with that. The app for the starter products and rules is totally free. What ...

Re: New Player Debating which warcaster to try first

If you want bigger models, then go Trolls. Almost all of their range is on 40mm bases, save for like 2 units, and bigger. They don't tend to play with a ton of warbeasts, but you've still got the horde of medium and heavy infantry marching across the board. Despite that reliance on infantry in horde...

Help with a 50pt Piggie (Farrow) list

Hey all! So I'm putting together a 50pt Helga tier 4 list using the new goodies, and the base question is do I go for a 2nd War Hog or 2nd Road Hog. In the list you'll see that I put the war hog in, but have the spare point to upgrade to the Road. So here it is: Helga (+6) 2 War Hogs (8) Road Hog (9...

Re: Initial thoughts on the new codex

So how long before someone is nice enough to put together an armylist section for the community to download since they couldn't put those precious 4-5 pages of necessity in it? Oh and the book is terrible on the whole. You'd probably stand better playing with the Fantasy 8th ed book...

We'll have to see how the kit works when it comes out/people get their hands on it.

Re: Nonebutone's Standard Bant Walkers

My worry with the deck is that Ajani's +1 ability will go to waste with only 4 creatures that can't attack. What's the reasoning for going with Jace and not Ashiok if the end goal is to cast your opponents stuff? I understand Jace is really good, but Ashiok gets around too. She'll work well with the...

Re: God Cards

I personally don't see her as super good even from a practical sense. She's real good at thinning the deck in prep for late game, and provides a nice beefy 6 power with indestructible. Keeping her on line as a creature can be a bit of a challenge too. It's great that the game(s) went well!

Re: God Cards

It also depends on the format you're building for. If you're going for commander then there's all sorts of directions you can go with both Iroas and Mogis with ease. Both can do a form of control and straight up beat-face. If standard, your guess is as good as mine.

Re: Warmachine faction choosing

First thing to think about is do you like the idea of controlling big stompy robots supported by infantry or big stompy monsters supported by infantry. If you like lots of infantry, Warmachine is definitely for you. Due to the Fury mechanic, Hordes armies tend to have more warbeasts (monsters) than ...

Re: Which do you prefer?

I like Hordes for the pure fact that its heavies have actual heads, with Mulg being the exception. Now I'm at the point where Focus just feels weird to me since I've played so much with Fury.

Re: Warmachine: Vengeance, and Hordes: Exigence

I love that the pig battle engine is powered by razorboars being lit on fire and trying to escape the fire by running. It looks pretty cool and already have an idea as to what purpose it will serve in my commune. More casters are always nice, but I would really like another unit and/or warbeast inst...
