Re: Looking into Eldar

Sorry I didn't reply for a bit, but I have some great news. Turns out my uncle used to play WH40k and guess what? he loved his eldar! he lost a fair few but he recovered some for me to use. There was 5 dark reapers (with their exarch) a fire dragon exarch a wraithguard and wraithlord, I think one of...

Re: Looking into Eldar

Addressed to WandalfTheGhite: Well, I was thinking a far seer to start of with, then in later games if I liked him (I would proxy to test him) I would get Eldrad. And money is more "restricted" than tight. You said to get a box of Dire avengers and a seer. Well I just had a price check and I could a...

Looking into Eldar

I've been looking around for a fun army to play, and the eldar stood out well for me. I was thinking of the battleforce as a start. But not sure how good it is. Is it good? and roughly how many points do you get out of it? Along with the battleforce I was just going to get a far seer, so that would ...

Re: Starting fantasy

I'm not really sure, i'm just not much of a fan of that part of the games, I much prefer the combat. Even though I don't like magic, If magic is that much as a necessity I reckon I could get a bit, I'm just not much of a fan. And if you say skaven are really that fun, I guess they could be worth loo...

Re: Starting fantasy

Well, to tell you the least, i play orks in 40k, and I love me the orks (i do like other ones though, but nothing compares to a screaming horde of boyz running into someone) I really don't like magic, I don't really use any of it in 40k and avoid it when i can (partly because i'm not 100% sure how t...

Re: Starting fantasy

I'm not really set on wh fantasy, i'm kind of set on FANTASY itself, if you know what i mean. And it probably would be easier to start whf. But we'll see

Re: Starting fantasy

haha, yeah it's never fun when you're playing with a boring person, and i looked at skaven, and they don't really seem my taste. Are there any that are easy to use? aswell as fun still. and Arnathos, thankyou for the lists, ill look into them before making my choices, thankyou both for telling me yo...

Starting fantasy

Been playing 40k for a while and am thinking of starting fantasy. It looks quite fun, but Lord of the rings looks quite appealing aswell, but i think fantasy will be my choice. And just wondering, what do you think would be the funnest army and why? wood elves looked pretty cool, and also, is that a...

Re: An idea that could lead somewhere

A few examples: American cavalry consists of 3-5 models (points each, etc) gear: pistols, swords, shotguns one cavalry man may take double barrel shotgun (points cost) one horse may be upgraded to a war-hardened horse (maybe an extra wound or something) British cavalry basically the same thing, mayb...

Re: An idea that could lead somewhere

Okay, that does look interesting to do. But a tournament? I was thinking more of something like, other countries have to fight their way to the goldmine, and win it for their own. could result in some good battles, the fight for the goldmine kind of thing. anyway, we can still discuss that but i've ...

Re: An idea that could lead somewhere

Ok well tell you what, You give me about a day, and I think I could come up with things such as basic rules (moving, shooting, things like that) and maybe back stories. in fact, just reading that gave my this idea: would you like it to be something like, resources in certain places are becoming more...
