Re: Play test

I think a dogs attack should have a slightly different ability to affect armored vs un-armored opponents..

It might be easiest to give them and AP value like a weak gun. So they can still "knock down" anyone, but only inflict wounds on un-armored opponents.

Re: what are the viechels

Along the lines of vehicles.. If I have a truck with a driver, passenger and unit of 5 marines in the back/bed and the vehicle stops for everyone to get out. The marines can exit the bed over the sides or out the rear and and the driver and paasenger end up on either side of the vehicle... This coul...

Re: "Harvester Under Attack"

Sounds like a Flames of War scenerio...

Desert Raiders - Convoy I think.

I would go for 1/35 or 1/48 scale WWII trucks - but I like the idea!

Re: Play test

Matt, I mostly agree that "dogs can't really penetrate armour", but you might want to watch some video of attack dogs being trained or pitt-bull attacks... It's not all about "penetrating" the armour. Attack dogs (and police dogs) are trained to bring a person down to the ground and either immobiliz...

Re: Concept Art- Galagido

Sorry, pet peeve of mine... Dingpong, The "Vikings" were Celts! "Viking" is a VERB, not a race or tribe. It means to travel and pillage, taking what ever you can get your hands on: treasure, food, slaves, etc... The classic "Vikings" were primarily Danish Celts that went on a viking because of a poo...

Re: Thought on blasts used as sniping?

I'm sort of torn on this point... I can see how it makes sense to draw kills from the entire unit because the surviving memebers of the unit will move into position to fill in for the guys that died. But I also agree that if I throw a grenade at a group it's becuase I am trying to eliminate the grea...

Re: feedback

I read through the 0.2.1 rules yesterday and this morning and I had similar quantity questions, but when I balanced them out against the "field" column on the factions sheet, it made more sense becuase you are "fielding" 9 soldiers and 3 soldiers with machine guns. I can see a fist fight or sword pl...

Re: Primal Horizon Main Story (work in progress)

I like the zombie idea, but then you start to encroach on Secrets of the Third Reich (an alternate history mini's game that uses the idea of the Nazi'a using zombie creating gas during WWII and other created mythical beasts like werewolves). The idea of the 28 Days Later "Rage Virus" negates any con...

Re: rabidgerbil feedback

I came into 40K during 4th Edition and play Bretonians for WFB, so no mis-fire dice for me. A 1 in 12 change is half as likely as a 1 in 6... Personally, I think the "Gets Hot" type of rule doesn't make a lot of sense. These are mass manufactured weapons using the same patterns and techniques for th...

Re: rabidgerbil feedback

I like "jam" rules that bugger up someones shooting and potentially causes them to lose a round of shooting while clearing the jam. Normally I'm not too keen on "heroic" action rules, especially when tagged exclusively to specific characters. But one of the things I like about GW's IG fluff is that ...

Re: Game makers and game breakers

I feel along the llines of GW's prices aren't that bad for what you get. Yes, they could go lower and that would most likely boost sales, but they really aren't that bad for most stuff - I get several different catalogs on a regular basis for plastic and resin model kits and GW's stuff is about aver...

Re: Buying d12s

I haven't downloaded or read the rules yet, but please bare with me... Why d12 and not d20? or d100? I know d100 is a bit of a PITA (like some of the suggested d6 to d12 convertions that have been suggested), but it's more of a pure percentage system... There are a ton of d20 systems in the RPG real...
