Re: "The Ferals" new faction idea or sub-faction

Perhaps the idea wouldn't work with the Ferals exactly as the OP described them, but I don't think a slight modification would be completely absurd at all. It's plausible that people who worked at zoos, as veterinarians, or even as animal trainers for films would have had some sort of genetic enhanc...

Re: "The Ferals" new faction idea or sub-faction

Since people are looking for a possible unifying factor for the animal faction, I think this could be it. Naturalized humans commanding packs of wild beasts would be a great way to make the animal faction reasonably coherent.

Re: "Contagious" special rule

One idea is that it could work with nanomachines, which could also help to explain the medic effect, in terms of nanomachines stopping nearby friendly squads' internal bleeding, or whatever the equivalent is in X'lanthos biology.

Re: Need another name for pinning

I dunno, I feel like the connotations are a bit different. When I hear unnerving, I think of something that would make a squad-mate just disappear without a trace; where you have no idea what is happening and it freaks you the heck out. Whereas I think shock value implies that you can see the damage...

Re: Need another name for pinning

I must say, I rather like the suggestion of "Shock Value"
because that's exactly what it is when one of your comrades has suddenly been shot and you have no idea from where. Moreover, the same rule could be applied to other weapons which do particularly horrible things to people.

Re: Need another name for pinning

How about "silent shot",
which only really works if the sniper is somehow silenced... though technically it wouldn't be silent, just quite a bit less loud.

Re: Bandits Concepts and Miniatures (images and videos)

I think that the ATV would be able to move faster, but with some limits on the degree to which it could turn, depending on how fast it moves.

Re: Suppression Fire/Gravity Mine template placement

I think that once Matt gets production going it would be good to produce a template with small legs on it, so it could hold itself over models without having to move them.

Re: Bandits Concepts and Miniatures (images and videos)

I don't know why, but I love the water bottle. It makes the difference between being a pirate and survivalist in this case. (Where did he find the hat? did he raid a theme park once?)

Re: Bandits Concepts and Miniatures (images and videos)

Now we just need them in action poses!
Preferably involving double-barreled shotguns and/or motorcycles.

Re: Bandits Concepts and Miniatures (images and videos)

I like it. They look like they're just using stuff they picked up on their raids/travels. But in this case what would aesthetically separate a bandit from a normal adventurer-type person. From what I see, the people in the drawing could be some nice guys on a journey to the next town. Or they could ...

Re: Bandits Concepts and Miniatures (images and videos)

I imagined bandits with more of a classic motorcycle gang type look. More leather, sunglasses/goggles, and most importantly leather. Also awesome beards.

Re: Reiterate of Pop-Culture Thread

That last part would be awesome to see in a short story. But yeah, another thing is that it would be difficult to predict where instrument technology would go. For all we know we could see miniaturization and cost-decreases for things such as the Theramin and Eigenharp . So those might be easier to ...
