Re: Narrative Campaign Special Rules

I'd say they fail outright regardless of whether or not a chaplain is there. If Gabriel Seth couldn't rally his forces during the Shields of Baal campaign, I don't think a chaplain would either. I would simplify and say it's -1 for each model taken as a casualty. As for narrative campaign rules, de...

Narrative Campaign Special Rules

I'm going to be bringing my Flesh Tearers force into a narrative campaign and I wanted to make a set of rules for them that fit their fluff a bit better. I had in mind something close to the old 5e Death Company rules and came up with this. At the beginning of each turn, every Flesh Tearers unit mus...

Green flames added to the helmet, I feel much better about it now. Not only does he look a bit more unique in comparison to the Chaplain model's head now, but he also gets that "I will haunt your nightmares" look.

There he is all painted up. I'm not fully satisfied with the helmet but when I added highlights I felt it looked too much like a Chaplain.

Re: Vailkor's Vengeful WIP (Update: 1/31/15)

LATE NIGHT UPDATE! So I was chatting with a friend of mine about joining a narrative campaign, and I was struck by a bolt of inspiration. I wanted a fluffy Flesh Tearer Captain to head my army and wasn't content with my current options. I have a Captain with a thunder hammer and storm shield that's ...

I will finish detailing them either later tonight or tomorrow. Sorry my picture quality isn't that great, the ...

Re: Vailkor's Vengeful WIP (Update: 8/3/13)

I'm dredging up this old thread, because, well I'm back in the game once more. After a long hiatus from 40k, I was lured back by the Blood Angels update. After getting back in, I realized that I really needed to focus on one specific army because I couldn't afford to split my financial resources. So...

Re: Sanguinary priests or chaplains

Chaplain, only in the case of Astorath the Grim and only with some Khorne Berzerkers, I mean Death Company. Nipple Armor gives him 2+, and being a chaplain gives him a 4+. Also he still gives DC reroll wounds like the good old days.

Anything else, go with the Priest, though he only gets 3+ nipples.

Re: Blood angels cc scouts- cc troop?

Been a while since I've actually payed attention to 40k, but the new Blood Angels brought me back. I like the changes, and the fast attack assault marines don't bother me too much. What did catch me off guard was that tac squads don't get cc weapons. If you insist on using your troops for cc, which ...

Re: That's a lot of models...

Maybe people with 100k+ salaries. If I won the £160 million euro lottery I would buy it for the lolz Winning that much I would buy my fellow Mini War Gamers a set - each! After all £160 Million is £8,000,000 per year in interest (at 5%) sure I could stretch for a few £7,065 - but you guys would ser...

Re: Are death masks really worth it???

I tend to model them on my sanguinary guard, but never use them. the +1 attack banner is a lot better, and I tend to field Sanguinary Guard when I use Dante, so since he comes with a mask I don't really need them on that squad anyways. The other ones could use it, but its a lot more fun to use those...

Re: Which one looks the better?

So their tactic is only good for challenges? that's a let down Blobs of Black Templar moving 10" a turn up the field beside Land Raiders filled with Terminators just sounds like a fun time. And having rending and rerolls to hit in challenges mean that even your sergeants can be threatening in a cha...

Re: Which one looks the better?

Stop focusing on the assault portion of the chapter tactic, you can basically build a space marine army where your whole army can scout move. This is crazy. Normal bikes get scout rules, tact squads in or out of vehicles get scout rules. The assault marines ability is good, but thanks to the other a...

Re: Centurions

You say turn one orbital. when they will be in stormraven for me. In your case, yes. But all we can really do is compare unit for unit. Another example: A squad of 20 eldar guardians with guide gets 36 shuriken shots at 12" and 2 starcannon shots. With guide cast on them, they hit on average with 3...

Re: Are centurions any good?

I think they have potential, but I honestly think once an opponent knows how to deal with them they won't be a threat. I like the idea, but there's a lot of other things I'd find a lot scarier. Also, for their points, I'd rather take Assault Termis with THSS than the Assault Centurians. I agree with...
