Re: New Edition fear

Speaking of reviews, things like my Tactica Imperialis for 7th edition was mostly focussed on whether something was good or bad, so I have to admit that I am guilty of stuff like that as well. Should there ever be a 8th edition one I might change the format a bit though!

Re: Sigmar and Bases --

I have not played 9th age, I just can't bring myself to make an army with the bloody awful ETC hammer rules. ETC is what killed fantasy way before GW did, their own in crowd that imposes their weird rules on everyone else, warping the game into a twisted facade of what it was intended to be. I'll gl...

Re: Sigmar and Bases --

I did actually replace all of my word bearers bases with 32mm, it is a massive improvement visually (although at the time someone did mention modelling for advantage, which in 7th could have been argued). I left 1 metal techpriest which I am too afraid to rebase and 5 deathwatch marines meant for di...

Re: Sigmar and Bases --

Personally I have decided not to rebase my fantasy army and actually to not play it in age of sigmar at all, because I feel the lower fantasy empire army really clashes with the high fantasy style of the newer models. Skaven don't have that problem I guess. Another thing is that, you can play sigmar...

Re: Rules of Terrorgheist shooting

I did check youtube and episode 77 of old world wars had vampire counts with a terrorgheist :) Also this used to be a common issue back in the day.

Re: Rules of Terrorgheist shooting

Considering 8th edition, I know he can shoot out of combat and into his own, but I am not sure about shooting into another combat, it was in the FAQ, but that may be hard to find these days.

EDIT: Googled the old FAQ and the answer is yes to all of the above for 8th edition.

Re: Beta Primaris Marines Transport Rules

I don't feel that Rhinos or Razorbacks should be able to transport Primaris marines, as they are basically terminator sized, and the transports are way dinky in comparison to primaris marines. I do agree that anything that can carry a terminator should be able to carry primaris marines.

Re: Idoneth Deepkin oppinion

I'd argue that the models are a reason to play them! I'm very much into aesthetics, the main reason why I refuse to use my empire army for AoS, as I feel their lowish fantasy style clashes with the high fantasy AoS. But these here sea elves fit right in, plus, you get a ton of fishy bits that you ca...

Re: Going back to 7th Edition Deployment?

My last match of Chaos Marines vs Tau was a really close match due to terrain(and a couple of crucial bad rolls for my opponents' R'nvas with their 14" murder everything flamers), it basically turned the battlefield into a city fight board, but with 2 shooty-ish armies it forced both of us to maneuv...

Re: Going back to 7th Edition Deployment?

With the effectiveness of deepstrikes reduced, alternating deployment because much more important. This might just be the old fantasy player in me, but I would never voluntarily go back to deploy everything mode, as it just takes depth out of the game.

Those minis look amazing! Love the way your friend uses old Dark Elf models as well. 2 painted armies on a good looking board is always nice to see!

Re: I'm coming back to 40k

Sonic weapons suffer this edition as cover isn't as big a deal anymore, neither is instant death, AP3 templates. That said though, there are a lot of models to choose from when playing emperors children, personally I have fantasised about converting a full nipple armour emperors children army, but a...

Re: GW Teasers/Rumours Discussion

Well, if you play Space marines, of any sort, and don't mind a retro look, Forgeworld has sets of 5 of the same weapon, for almost any new style weapon. Not as cheap as 50 USD, but cheaper than buying 5 of the same squad.

Re: GW Teasers/Rumours Discussion

Not sure about the terminator armour, previously, only the Ordo malleus has had wide access to terminator armour (for inquisitors). AFAIK the only human member of the Ordo hereticus that has terminator armour is Tyrus from the old inquisitor rpg.
