Knowing what your army can do

When you begin to write your army list, make sure you know what your army can and cannot do, for example, you don't play dark eldar and try to hoarde them like orks, sure, you cabn get 120 kabalite warriors for 1080 points or 120 wych's for 1200 points but on the battlefeild they would not work like...

Re: No Dice?

I don't get how it could do that. I just think that the more control you have then the more tactical it becomes.

Re: No Dice?

And it's fun to have a bit of randomness, just not so much that it can generally ruin tactics. But cards also have randomness an dice do ruin tactics because of the possibility of running in and getting all ones all the time, whilst with cards you will deffinately get somthing good eventually becau...

No Dice?

Well I have been thinking, if Matt wants his game to be Tactical then wouldn't the best way to do that by taking out the randomization of dice? Malifaux works because it uses cards, it is still random but less random (because of he control hand and soulstones) so wouldn't it be better to use somthin...

Re: bandits appearance idea

I agree, steampunk would be a good theme, maybe with a mix of western.

The corperation- a basic history

The Corporation The corporation originally set up on a habitable moon of one of the 50 colonies due to a small loop-hole in the law that allowed them to claim it as there own. The corporation originally set up to sell weapons to planets in the 50 colonies and quickly became rich and influential. The...

Re: The "flavour" of the Corporation

what you still have to remember is that you need to reflect all your idea in models, I mean, the first thing somebody looks at when they sart a game is how good the models are.

I allways thought the corperation would have a western feel to them or a russian theme.

Re: THE PRE-PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTION DISCUSSION THREAD

4) PROMOTION- games don't sell themselves. Where should this be promoted? Advertisement? Promotional art/art-of publications? Etc... Well because everyone wo like Miniwargaming and watches the desighner blog knows about it, some will deffinately be sold. Other wargaming fansites would work, Dakka D...

Re: Current Major Topic: The Corporation

How about this: If the X'lanthos are afected by certain radiation that interupts them when trying to comunicate, what if the corperation had a division that specialises in hunting X'lanthos using the radiation that interupts the X'lanthos comunication and therefore make sthem easy to hunt. Because c...

Re: Why the X'Lanthos Pulled out of the 50 Colonies

Perhaps they are all in the same "Area" and a solar storm of supernova or somthign happened nearby and caused that effect. As for the travel thing, when they want to travel, perhaps whatever happened went away for some reason but they were unaware of it until they came (a bit like a how a storm come...

Re: Current Major Topic: The Corporation

Perhaps you should have some very agressive leadership because whoever is in charge wants to stay in charge.

You could have lots of different cultures involved if other survivior groups are "hired" into it.

Re: Why the X'Lanthos Pulled out of the 50 Colonies

Perhaps those planets were out of range of "Focus" or those planets for some reason had a block from Focus.

Re: Question for Matthew: Location

I don't see how it woul limit imagination, in the far future the location would have changed quite considerably. Malifaux is set in the same location but there is such variation within that location that just about anything is possible. And anyway, it does not really fit with the fluff if survivors ...

Re: My Faction Idea

I enjoy the matriarchal society but I'm not sure it should go as far as having males be of lower caste. I am also assuming (and hoping) that by the time in the future the concept of sex is not as large a divide as it is now and has been in human history. I'm going to assume (knowing nothing about h...

My Faction Idea

So I had a few ideas that I think fit best in their own topic. First of I had an idea for a faction (sorry I have no name yet) that has never been done before (at least not to my knowledge). Perhaps “the crusaders” would be a good name A feudal style system but as a matriarchy (ruled by women). I th...
