Re: Area of Effect attacks

well if its an AOE attack i'm assuming it'd be something to do with one person. But we can always do the roll against the spread like this Defence Skill : 2D6+Shooting Skill+ Number of guys in squad the ratio is how far it'll scatter. and i'm also assuming this'd work best with 1 person. 10 : 12+2 1...

Re: Drawing Fire

Yes you do lose control of a unit but at least you get to fire back at something instead of just hiding in cover for a turn. Well, you could either just make it an easier roll (like you get a flat +5 when attempting to draw fire or you ignore more cover) or you could use a different mechanic which ...

Re: Campaigns?

Once we get the core mechanics down, and the unit cost, we can start working on the Custom Commander and Campaign expansion or Pieces.

Do we still want the Commander being a core piece of the game, or just a sidebar?

Re: Crossfire - should we have it?

Hi Matt, You don't need to include crossfire mechanics for crossfire to be a part of your game. As soon as you implement any kind of cover based bonus/save, crossfire becomes a viable tactic. The advantage of crossfire is geometric. 1) Squad1 is shooting at Enemy1. 2) Enemy1 positions themselves to...

Re: Drawing Fire

Just a quick idea to have with suppression fire. Drawing fire would be test of some sort (being leadership or whatever suits) done by the enemy unit, if failed they must use there next action to fire at the unit that used the command. This will allow for another unit to move with out the worry of a...

Re: Area of Effect attacks

I think it should just be a D6 scatter, because an average of 7" is a bit far for scattering. or even d6-2 Seems like that would make the average scatter about 2 inches, Not really scattering at all, What if we took a d6 and just left it, It leaves randomness, Allowing for wind, and so forth. and i...

Re: Stealth

Matt could probably make some cool looking "stealth bases" where one is marked with a small symbol on the side [ie something that only someone looking over at it could see,or is very hard to notice] Idk about you, But me and my friends play in my basement, cramped and we have to switch sides of the...

Re: Stealth

I believe instead of a "unit coherency" they were talking about stealth markers having to be within a foot or so of eachother. Because stealth can only confuse someone so much.

Re: Idea for Turn-Sequence

You can only fit so much on the board before it becomes Ring Around the Rosy.

Regardless. I think we should Vie away from this IMO. But it is all Matt's decision.

Re: re: Suppression and crossfire

What if we have this apply, They can "go to ground" or make themselves become Suppressed to counter-act the crossfire. so they still recieve cover from the shots.

Because this is Assuming that the men are standing straight up, and NOT deciding to take cover, instead to keep their LOS and fire.

Re: Supressive Fire

Sounds pretty good, and it won't be a completely useless mechanic that noone will use, however i think cover shouldn't effect the defensive half of suppressive fire, because the point is getting them down, not getting them hit, So cover is removed from play.

Re: re: Suppression and crossfire

Cross fire is the use of two firing points, to reduce the Effective cover of a target.

I don't have a picture, but set 5 of your units up in a "Corner" and look at two different firing positions, they can not completely take cover from both of them at once. Period.

Re: forcing smaller squads. let's gather some ideas

We could just set squad limits,

Like normal Inf have a limit of 5

Measly weak units have a limit of say 8

And elits have a limit of 2-3 if they aren't alone.
