I'm leaning towards a German-sounding name - like a splinter group of scientists who attempted to develop a Haussman gene but for animals instead. They failed, of course.

And called the animals Jagerfrei. Jager = Hunter and Frei = Free in German.

This is just me fooling around with fluff and words.

And how about a name for the Animal faction? I'm leaning towards a German-sounding name - like a splinter group of scientists who attempted to develop a Haussman gene but for animals instead. i agree. you can first pick off the guys who couldn't hide behind cover. they get no cover bonus at all (even if some of their squad mates are behind cover).

yup.:) since were beginning with skirmish-size armies, it's pretty difficult NOT to have similar lists. that's just the way it goes - few models, few list options. but in the long run, having tier-typed armies would be great to have different lists with different look and feel. just to make it fun a...

Thanks again, saltinerunner45! those are just example bonuses.:) normally, it wouldn't be that OP (like a bonus to who-goes-first roll in the beginning of the game; or adding a few inches to the deployment zone; etc.) and of course, not only the animals will have bonuses based on army type fielded. ...

just one question, are you thinking of actual bonuses for fielding lists fitting into these categories or are these just types of lists that you could make? Bonuses will be given for fielding that army type. So maybe for example: 1. If you field a DOMINATION type of army - you get -2 to checks and ...

I'm also thinking of different ARMY TYPE bonuses you can get when building your Animal army (much like Tier lists): 1. Domination Bonus - models fielded all have the Domination trait.(much like a jack-heavy list in WM/H) 2. Kinship Bonus - models fielded are of the same Animal type (i.e. all wolves,...

Thanks for the reply saltinerunner45! Not too keen on the idea of your Alpha getting "weaker" in leadership (since most of his troops have been killed) as the game gets into the later stages. Hi! Thanks for the reply! I was thinking of DOMINANCE not as a straight-up trait but one that comes with a value. DOM 5 or DOM 3 (for example).
