Re: A little treat...

A fun read! I did see a possible conflict though, and I also posted the following on DP's facebook post. Is the gray mist the same humanity-exterminating virus that is used to wipe us out? The fact that the mist can physically rip people apart, yet left .01% of humanity alone seems to conflict with ...

Re: any units youve seen and liked new ideas suicide units

Although a few people are mentioning that 'suicide' units seem kinda sketchy, I could definitely see this as a valid tactic used by the Salvagers. It's practically a trope by now, but spider mines immediately come to mind due to both their practicality and shock-factor.

Re: Which Scrapling Design Do You Like The Most?

I love E's look, but it just seems a little too top-heavy. Without a lower center of gravity, one round to its top and it topples over. My second favorite is D, but it seems a little too armored and plated for a scouting/collecting role. Obviously sparse and segmented armor is counter-productive for...

Re: Dark Potential Alpha Rules (Version 0.3.3, updated June 20)

I find it interesting that the Phase trooper's Phase Rifle is a ballistic weapon. Was this intended so that PMC couldn't just spam smoke grenades to counter the weapon? I'm also thinking the Ambusher might need a more catchy name that still reflects his role like the Vanguard, Pathfinder, or Spotter...

Re: Corp speculation

For Petrov-Morales, I would agree that 'Bio-Corp' sounds a little on the outlandish side. I would also agree that 'Co.' or 'Inc.' sounds a little bland for a company tagline. Although it might also be a little overdone, the taglines 'Industries', 'enterprises', and 'mechanics' tend to work well with...

Re: "Contagious" special rule

Neat picture, but I'm almost thinking that 2mm might still be too large if they're going to be referred to as a 'contagion'. I'm not suggesting anything as silly as micrometers in size, but plainly visible bugs would probably be seen as more of a swarm/ball o' gnats than a disease cloud. You also ha...

Re: "Contagious" special rule

At first, I was thinking that a simple solution would be replacing the viruses with hostile nano-machines. However I seem to remember somewhere that the X'lanthos actually don't have much knowledge on circuitry and seem to use some sort of Bio-manipulation to simulate technology. I think this still ...

Re: What other models should the Corporation have?

Has anyone thought of incorporating the Haussman Gene into a non-mechanical unit? I was thinking of some sort of Haussman-assisted, hunter killer unit. Something along the line of a shoulder or arm mounted weapon system that would lock-on and fire at a designated target while still allowing the unit...

I like the term 'Shellshocked/Shellshock' as a universal combat term.

Applies to both the mental and physical traumatic stress on the battlefield.

Re: One last push!

^ agreed. As cool as four unique races in the initial release sounds, I would rather have Matt and company spend that time refining the three other factions so that they play balanced and uniquely. You have to keep in mind that for every new faction, every new unit needs to be balanced against every...

Re: Aesthetic fluff

I think I posted something somewhere about rebreathers.. Can't remember. Anyway I like the idea of them because I feel that some faces would humanize the otherwise robotic reclaimers. On the other hand though, leaving their helmets on will humanize the corp and bandits even more so by comparison. A...

Re: X'Lanthos Miniature Sculpting (images and videos)

Somehow, I'm only just seeing these for the first time, and I can't even describe how impressed I am with all of these! When I was watching the youtube videos, I was just sitting there slack-jawed.

I'm really hoping Matt is impressed with your talents. Only the best of luck!

Re: Reiterate of Pop-Culture Thread

I'm really liking the light blues and folk music ideas. Starting to remind me of Firefly with the futuristic/western feel to it.

And that can never be a bad thing.
