Re: Need advice with a friendly game, Dark Angels vs. Tau 1

Ronin makes good points! Generally when I play, I do find I'm the only ones with reserves so it tends to be pretty easy on who to place in reserve. There are many situations I've found though, where dense terrain makes outflanking useful. Particularly, enemies who like hoping in and out of cover, ca...

Re: Need advice with a friendly game, Dark Angels vs. Tau 1

Well you can't assault, but for bikes that's not particularly a problem. Interceptor is very rare, despite Tau having easy enough access to it, it's rather conditional and takes up a valuable item slot for them. Chances are they won't have Interceptors, and even if they do that means they're a dud f...

Re: Need advice with a friendly game, Dark Angels vs. Tau 1

Deathwing can't go to ground, they're Fearless. Still, staying in cover is helpful, but it's an uphill battle for the Deathwing. Tau battle suits are much more mobile, technically more durable, and have superior firepower per individual unit. Where as a Terminator is stuck with a Storm Bolter stock,...

Chaplins are a nice cheap way to get a Command Squad access for a Company Commander.

But why not go for the Honor Guard, for one heck of a melee blender squad and some style points ;)

Re: Chantilix 519th (I suck with Scions!)

I would hazard a guess and say it's the Scions haha. Their lack of options really hurt their independent abilities, plus every squad has that 10 point 'tax' for the Sergeant, I guess (no one else in the Imperial Guard pays for their sergeants except Ogryns, so I guess elites gotta pay?). Not to ment...

Re: 2000 Points of Mechanized Infantry

Alrighty lets get some pics in here~ As best as my Laptop's camera can do atleast. Also be warned, there is tons of green stuff usage scattered all over my Guardsmen. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CAwiZ23UUAAKQBk.jpg:large The Chimera Iron Faith, Sebastien is here, Green Sergeant Frost of the second P...

Re: 2000 Points of Mechanized Infantry

Huh, strangely enough I've never really had problems with my Plasma Gunners. They've usually done either exactly what I anticipated, or pleasantly surprise me. With the mixed dying soldier from Gets Hot in there, because I almost never make an armor save against Gets Hot. I hope this isn't a sign of...

2000 Points of Mechanized Infantry

Still building some of these, getting really into the detail work of the Tauroxs for this, and though it's not finished in paint/assembly, I have enough things to proxy that I've got to play with this list before. Usually run the two Veteran squads Red and White with 2 Grenade Launchers, but playing...

Re: Outflank and charging?

Well, I was referring to, since you manifest Dominion after the Movement Phase, you miss out on your standard 6" move, but you're still able to act normally.

Re: Outflank and charging?

It's also a safer way to get Genestealers into the fight. They may not be able to charge the turn they come on, but granted you Outflank into some cover and make sure they aren't completed exposed, it beats running across the table. Even infiltrating you still don't get to charge immediately, so eve...

Re: Facing an Imperial Tank Army

Ah sweet sounds like 5th edition Griffons, believe it also has re-rolls of the scatter dice or something like that. I'll have to look this up! They are really sweet artillery to beef up anti-infantry~

Anywho was just curious, thanks for letting me know!~

Re: Proposed buff for Terminators

I support Ronin's notion, Lightning Claw Terminators would (probably) see a lot more play if they could sweeping advance. Docking down Terminators to the Grey Knight point cost would be very reasonable. 33 a man is not too expensive, but not too cheap. Course we could all start fielding Grey Knight ...

Re: Puretide Engram Neurochip and a unit

Do keep in mind though, that you can no longer join a Riptide with a Commander. The IC rules stat a IC cannot join a unit containing a Monsterous Creature or Vehicle. Everything on the Puretide chip though will effect the whole squad, each just requires a model. It's a potent support tool.

Re: Facing an Imperial Tank Army

Forgive me but, the Griffon Heavy Mortar? If this perhaps with Forgeworld rules? I miss that old sucker and wouldn't mind finding the rules to field them again. Anywho those are, for the most part, very light tanks. They got nice front armor, but flimsy side armor. Plasma Gun Crisis Suits are not th...

Re: Proposed buff for Terminators

To be fair, Deathwing can already mix and match loadouts. Why other chapters can't have some Storm Shield/Thunder Hammer brothers protecting their Assault Cannon brothers is odd. If all Terminators had the Deathwing's bonuses, their potency would be far greater. I speak of course as the ability to c...
