Re: Why no love for Battletech.

Battletech was the original game that got me into miniatures, but Heavy Gear is the better mecha-based game. Once BT lost the Unseen (since it was those mechs that drew me to the game in the first place), I was like "meh" about the game.

Fart jokes aside, both the quality and quantity of your painting output is awesome. Keep up the great effort!

C'mon Mike, I'm from Canada too, and that's obviously not the first thought you had when referring to a "blue angel"

Re: PRDF 750 list

The main problem I'm having is the pit bulls, they look nice yeah, but on paper they're not that great and I'd like them more if everything could have a frag cannon, but alas, fate is cruel. Ignore those paper thoughts! What makes them great is they are soooo cheap! Think about them from a metagame...

Re: PRDF 750 list

Good start, but I would've kept the ECM on your Gears. That is an advantage you have over any of the Polar "trooper" Gears, and come in handy when you want to deny your opponent FOs and CP usage.

Looking forward to this, it's nice to get some Heavy Gear action down at this end of the Great Lakes! Between going to CanGames and Anime North, May should officially be Heavy Gear Ontario month!

What he really means to say is that with this starter set you get two GP Squads; in the old one I think you just got 2-3 Gears for the North and South Factions.

DP9 at Anime North (May 27-29, 2011)

Looks like the DP9 crew will be down at the end of May for some mecha madness in Canada's largest city. Looks like they're be a 1000 TV Blitz tournament, a beginners Lightning tournament and free demos all weekend long. More details can be found over on the DP9 forum: http://dp9forum.com/index.php?s...

Looks good for that IF + FO combo you were wanting. And the Silverscales come with Sensor Booms, giving them the ability to both cover and forward observe their targets.

Re: woohoo starter kit arrived!

ESE, I like the versatility in what can be core and such. Although off the top of my head I really like the idea of many forward observer types and a lot of IF raining down. The beauty of ESE is that you can pick an Honour Guard that will make your Scout Cadres a Core choice! But don't forget that ...
