Omnissiah = Void Dragon, "Immortal Warriors"

Hey all, So the ongoing rumour that the Emperor enslaved the Void Dragon on Mars to fuel his golden age has gone on forever with little real evidence. I came across a littlr tidbit of info I think proves the rumour true. So during the War in Heaven, the Void Dragon created immortal warriors who chan...

[2000] Point Adeptus Mechanicus C&C

Hey all, Been gone from the hobby and back again slowly learning 40K 8th Edition. Got an idea for a 2k Ad Mech list based on Stygies VIII since mars seemed a bit too generic(?). Still figuring it out so C+C welcome!!! Brigade - Stygies VIII HQ Tech Priest Dominus (Warlord) Autocaduceous of the Arkha...

Re: Warhammer Total War...and What it Means

Since it is pre-end times, then I would assume they just respawn (if they are a unique, named character like Karl Franz). I still play DoW2 now and then. Really good game. My PC is knackered atm though, so I have no rig good enough to actually run the thing XD There is always DoW 1 + Expansion thoug...

Re: Warhammer Total War...and What it Means

The scary thing is, GFWL was actually way more stable for Dawn of War 2 than Steam was for a couple of months after launch...people were asking for its return...*shiver*

Re: Dwarfs: A noob trying to figure them out

I think the Dwarfs greatest strength is in its ability to have units interchangeable. I mean right here, we have Hammerers, Warriors, Longbeards, Miners, Quarrellers and Rangers all of which packing Great Weapons. Iron Breakers, Longbeards, Quarrellers, Thunderers, Warriors and Rangers can a be amaz...

Re: Warhammer Total War...and What it Means

Maybe I am being too enthusiastic, but even the BAD GW video games have at least in part stuck firmly to the IP. I mean Dawn of War (the original) stuck so close that it pretty much invented squad based, objective gameplay. Warhammer Quest, SPace Hulk, Chainsword Warrior were all direct recreations....

Re: Warhammer Total War...and What it Means

Whilst it is not unlike GW to mess up with video games (Warhammer Quest and Storm of Vengeance being 2 BIG examples of milking IP's), Games Workshop are in the business of selling. It makes no sense that they would make HUGE changes to their system when Total War: Warhammer is probably the BIGGEST a...

Re: Dwarfs: A noob trying to figure them out

Absolutely, as our premium hammer unit, Hammerers are unmatched in their field. But with my personal love of Iron Breakers, I find it more beneficial to have more bodies from warriors on the table, or even take Great Beards for that added utility (although, points wise they are = to hammerers). I th...

Re: Dwarfs: A noob trying to figure them out

As foollish as this sounds, another reason I dislike Hammerers is because you are paying a premium to get 2 attacks per model...that only the first 10 are benefiting from. I just don't like paying for something that I am not getting a use out of for 1/3 or 1/4 of the unit...it frustrates me to no en...

Re: Iron Drakes: Yay or Nay?

Those are good points. Drakes would work very well with a Strollaz army.

Re: Dwarfs: A noob trying to figure them out

My problem with Hammerers is not that they are bad, it is that they are competing with Iron Breakers. I am in the camp where Iron Breakers are the superior unit for reasons I think I expanded on in my original post. It would be an incredibly expensive investment to take BOTH Iron Breakers and a unit...

Pro's and Con's: Combat Characters in Hammers vs Anvils

Hey guys, So I have noticed a lot in my time playing fantasy that people love to make death star units, or at the very least, take their hammers and make them EVEN HAMMER-RY with the power of a blender lord, or just a buffed up combat beat stick. Of course, this works. I mean it is something that ha...

Re: Always Strikes First and why it needs to go

Yes that's right. They have a lot of variety and I absolutely love it! I think that overall Fantasy is much more balanced than 40k. I think that it has a lot to do with the fact that hand to hand fighting is much more important in Fantasy. Even units with a relatively poor weapon skill will general...
