Re: Black Legion (Pic Heavy)

I usually see taking Black Legion paint scheme as a cop out, since it's prime+gold. But these are excellent, and hugely detailed. I really like the raptors! they look brill.

Which reminds me, where did you find the old wings?

bluemetal wrote:Heres a funny thing: all the measurements for 40k are inches... why are the bases all in millimeters?
Because inches don't convert well, so what could you say for a small base, '0.45284 inches' ..it wouldn't work. :P

Re: FLUFF wise who's the toughest w40k army??

Number does not equal toughness though or at least it is only one type. Individually, Nids aren't that strong (except for the Zilla Nids). As a complete army, then yes either Nids, Necrons or Orks would be, just due to their sheer number. But, in terms of strongest per unit, fluff wise Space Marine...

bluemetal wrote:The Ultramarines stopped a pretty massive invasion of Nids, though it cost a lot and there are more Nids still.

I still think FLUFF wise, Marines are the toughest.
Probably because they drowned the poor 'nids in PapaSmurf blue citadel paint.

Re: Chaos Colour scheme problems

The asuremen blue wash deepend the purple, but also caused a few blotches in area's. It does look better, but still not good enough. Im rattling my brain thinking of something which will make the purple brighter or just compliment it. Ive almost finished painting it, just leaving the power fist. und...

Re: Abbadon The Despolier

Old codex rule was 2000pt+ army. He costs 275 pts..so now, it's more of a reccomendation to have him in an army of 1500+ pts imo

Re: Chaos Colour scheme problems

Okay so ive managed to bust my camera in the process, and can't post a picture yet. Basically, the Purple is too dark, and at range, the model looks black (apart from the boltgun metal trim). Im considering a light coloured wash (Asuremen blue?) Or painting back over the purple with more purple, to ...

Re: Home Brewed Rules for Undivided Chaos Legions

Sweeeet, I can't wait to see them. It's going to be tough thinning them down though, must take time. Time you could be using continuing your Night Lords vblog! :P. I really want to see what you do with 1K Son's and Tzeentch in general. They had really interesting rules previously, but it's more or l...

Re: Home Brewed Rules for Undivided Chaos Legions

Ahhh, I understand the reserve system now, I didn't realise it was mandatory to roll each turn! Yeah the rule seems to make a lot more sense now, and could definitely work well. With regards to Cultists- I think because you removed the Aspiring champion from WB's, you should remove the Cult Champ fr...

'Nids. Untold billions, like Imperial guard, but better. Doesn't matter how many die, there are always more to replace them.

Re: Home Brewed Rules for Undivided Chaos Legions

I also really like the 'buying' infiltrate thing. I could add some serious effect on larger games, and it's also a nice filler for 3p per mini. I Didn't understand the Alpha legions rule of +1/-1 modifier to reserve rolls though tbh, it seemed a little out of place. The Alpha Legions are masters of...

Re: Chaos Colour scheme problems

1. Take a picture 2. Post on photobucket 3. Post img format here That's a start. In terms of basic colors, I'd take the next up from Liche Purple and try drybrushing VERY LIGHTLY over some of the Liche Purple areas to create a highlight. That should pull out the purple. If you don't like whatever i...

Re: Home Brewed Rules for Undivided Chaos Legions

The first thing i noticed is that you added Chaos Cultists (yay) which I think is an excellent idea, simply because it's brilliant turning little men into evil fiends. Their point cost/stats seem to match pretty well aswell, so they'd make an excellent 'swarm' addition to an existing chaos army. But...
