Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

As promised, pictures of the Gobbos. Remember that all these are meant to be seen from about arms length away in groups of 20 or more so up close they don't look that great. These are very speedy jobs and the quality is definitely not meant to be top notch, but they're still a blast to paint! Here's...

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

Still no pics (I'm so sorry) but just a quickie update; Had the girlfriend over and showed her how to paint a Night Goblin from the BFSP set. She enjoyed it, so did I, and hers came out very nice for a first miniature. We painted our Gobbos in about 20 minutes total paint time and neither of us real...

That should work. I tend to go to my images on imageshack and then click the share button and copy the [img] brackets link, you seem to have a thumbnail/link thing going on.

Looking good as always though! Can't wait to see the finished mini!

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

Yeah I don't know what's going on with that. You can click it though and it works right? It works for me when I click it but it could just be because it's on my imageshack account. And yeah in the movies they filled their helmets with blood and poured it on themselves. I could've accomplished that l...

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

Yet again, no photos, but I feel the need to check in and document what little progress I've made: I've been working on the skin since the last time I posted, ie: a long time. I'm trying to get enough contrast and working to build deep shadows and bright highlights without sacrificing the blends and...

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

It's taken me forever to get the basecoats done and cleaned up but I've finally got it. Been really busy so I've had almost no time to get a lot of painting done, which is why I'm only done the basecoats and have not posted in a while. Crappy photo but regardless here's the mini: http://imageshack.u...

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

Been very busy this week so haven't had a lot of time to paint but I was able to get some done the last couple days and I've been working on basecoating the whole mini. That's sort of different from my usual method which is to finish one part completely and then move to the next but I think for this...

Uruk Hai Berserker

I recently finished this mini and put it on the CMON Gallery. Wasn't a great mini to paint and has only made me despise finecast for all the holes in it. Oh well, live and learn! Anyway I'd appreciate it if you could drop a vote on the CMON Gallery! Here's the link to the voting page: http://www.coo...

No more work done on the Ruffian, but the Uruk is in the Gallery! Vote for it here http://www.coolminiornot.com/327378

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

I love those Enigma minis, I've been meaning to get some for a while. Great paint, and nice to see you back! If interested, there is a motivational painting section http://www.miniwargaming.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=140 and quite a few of us have threads there. Thanks! And yeah I was thinking of do...

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

That wood looks amazing! I love the detailed highlights you did on there! It puts my cannon and helblaster to shame :( Thank you very much!! Haha honestly the sculpt of the base made the job much easier. Even the smallest line and crack and crevice has been sculpted in on this base, it's pretty cra...

Re: Arnathos's's's 40k WIP Thread

Everything's looking really ace! Love the guardsman, those shoulder pads gave me a good laugh XD I'll definitely be keeping my eye on your progress :) Also I agree the SoB minis are stupidly pricey. $30 for 3 models from a basic troop unit is insane and definitely discourages collecting that army, w...

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

I think I'm done with the wood on the base, as far as I can tell. I'm gonna put a layer of glosscote on top and when the whole piece is done it'll all get dullcote which should bring the wood back down a tad. Still need to paint the metal handle and hinge on the base so I'll probably get that done t...

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

No painting yet but I finished cleaning up the mini and primed it. As a quick note, RMS Linen White applies incredibly well for a white paint. Best I've ever encountered. Even after thinning it about 1:3 paint to water it still applied incredibly smoothly. Very nice. http://imageshack.us/a/img839/86...

Re: SageMonkey's Resurrection Project Log

Once again, an update without pictures. Well, sort of. I've got a reference picture for myself of what I'm going to try and accomplish colour scheme wise with the Ruffian. I'm posting it here to see if any of you could give me some advice as how to achieve the kind of colours that the painter did on...
