Re: New to 40k first army choice Grey Knights
Too bad the advice you are giving in you thread is a bit incomplete, to say the least

Got to start somewhere.. 500pts Grey Knights
So I have been collecting, modelling and painting GW miniatures for over 5 years now. Switching armies all the time..never ending up with anything playable. And thus, after almost 6 years, never have played a single game  . A month ago I saw the new Grey Knights and decided that was going to c...

Re: Waiter, there's some Tau in my GK
You shouldn't compare 4th edition armies to 5th edition armies tbh. Just wait untill Tau get their new codex, and then compare

Re: Painted Army so far...
In my honost opinion you should use WAY less devlin mud. Yes, almost every model looks better after a wash of it, but you seem to wash them so heavy that the models seem to lose some detail and de shadows become unrealistic. I don't want to sound harsh but I'd step down the wash a bit and use some (...

-Pic Heavy!-First painted & converted warhammer figure
So I just only got into warhammer fantasy recently because I liked the ogre miniatures so much. I collected Sisters of Battle before. But never painted more then 2 models (the 200 remaining kinda demotivated me, hence I like these bigger but fewer models alot). So I tried to go as much with the WYSI...

Ogre Kingdoms 'Fun' list, too weak?
So I made a list to fight my little brother with. I wanted to be a fun list where lots of random things happen. My brother can't really handle big losses well, wich is also a reason for me to gimp myself a bit. Basic line is, I really wanted to put in a slavegiant in here, for its randomness. I thin...

I would convert some of the leadbelchers into either more bulls, butchers or ironguts. Because you don't actually need that much of them. I use 2x2 in my 2k list myself.

Re: Future GW worker?
@ Maalve, I don't know if you ever lived from minimum wage, but it is no fun. Sure you will probably have enough for your rent if you eat low cost food and have no kids to put trough school. In Holland this is also doable if you are a bit creative with money, but in Amerika the social and health car...

Re: Future GW worker?
1. why do you assume wargamers are smart? I know some pretty stupid people that play various different wargames. 2. well if its your passion why not? who cares about money if its something you like doing then go for it. 1. Just like you assume they aren't I guess. All the wargamers I know are the '...

Re: Warhammer Fantasy - Fantasy Tournament!?
this kind of reminds me of the Arena Lord vs. Lord idea someone had here a few weeks ago. So how are you going to present this? are you making pictures of the models in some scenery with the rolls etc (mini-battle report) or just saying who won? Dressing it up a bit might draw some crowd for the sec...

Re: Wanting to start a small but decent sized army...
Well, you can make a full ogre 1000pts army with 1 battalion if you have some conversion skills. I took them for almost the same reason; I like painting, but I tend to try and 'perfect' my miniatures. 1 model takes me almost a full day, if you then have 300 more to go, thats kinda never going to hap...

Re: Future GW worker?
I'm hoping not to offend anyone with this. But wargamers generaly being smarter then average people, how can your dream job be working in a retail store? Sure, it's alot cooler to work there then in a MacDonalds if you don't have any degrees. But I think we smart people should probably aim a bit hig...
