Re: Good Space Battle Wargames

the best part about full thrust i feel is the ship creating system that they have, you can make most any race you can find mini's from, doesn't even have to be GZG mini's. I've seen some pretty cool games where you have the Colonial Battle Fleet from Battle Star Galatica vs a Narn Regime fleet from ...

Re: Good Space Battle Wargames

There are tons of neat rule systems out there right now for starship battles. There's Full Thrust by a company named Ground Zero Games which is a really neat little system that is a great introduction to the hobby, the rules are a free download. There is also the A Call To Arms: Star Fleet game desi...

Heavens of Fire Playtest Battle Report

Ok this is a playtest battle report for the star ship battle game I am creating, in this chance encounter between the Narn Regime and the Romulan Star Empire, two small(ish) patrol fleets have run into each other head on and have started to attack. the game was played with 2200 point fleets with th...

Re: Dropzone Commander

once you realize that the PHR are more about higher quality groups of cybersoldiers [their all cyborgs] you start understanding that their units are powerful but low in number. treat them accordingly, this isn't the scourge where you can always grow more tanks later and 'convert' more humanoid soldi...

Re: Some theme help

Mind you, the idea was to get a close-enough option. having said that, it is why i have dropped hints at possible solutions [for example, literal translation says Blaze-Bomb =/= frag nade but functional says it does, same with Blazer-Boltgun statement] Perhaps I should drop an idea i got while searc...

Re: Some theme help

I was looking for help full discussion, to persuade me why their proposed option was best, I am by no means trying to be rude. I have very little source material to work with and I am trying to make what I use fit best to the source material, and I need help with that. I want a close-to-faithful rep...

Re: Some theme help

Black Templars fit the power armor image you were looking for and are the exception to the rule in regards to Space Marine standard operating procedure. True but you are assuming i want an in universe chapter and not an approximation of what if they were transferred from their universe, into the 40...

Re: Some theme help

ok lets try this. my imagination is a little strained from work, let's try this. Explain to me the way that Templars are the best fit for my project in a thought out list with what knowledge you have from the book/google/wikipedia. for anyone else who said another army, Explain to me the way that [I...

Re: Some theme help

the only issue with sisters of battle is that they are 1 hard to find the codex, 2 hard to afford models, 3 they are the same T and S as guardsmen. two reasons are logical to say no to sisters now as for black templars, lack of rapid deployment system to critical areas denies me of something to repr...

Re: Some theme help

i don't think you guys understood the first post. I am trying to pick an army that fits the theme of the power armour wearing guys from 'Armor' out of the power wearing guys in 40k for better understanding here is the average scout's equipment in 'Armor -Blaze-Bombs [what could be perhaps equated to...

Re: Wounds + Range FAQ.

so in my mind the situation goes as follows. measure range declare shots roll dice to hit [separating to hit roll pools as different ranged/strength weapons] roll remaining dice to wound [rolling all 'hits' as keeping separate dice pools will inherently clarify which wounds are to be allocated in w...

Re: Wounds + Range FAQ.

I think I am in agreement with most of your proposed process. Thanks Of note however, the shooter pics the order in which the different wound groups are resolved and you have to resolve wounds against the closest model first, there is no longer any choice in allocation. makes since Other than that ...
