Re: Ideas for future Group Builds (updated 1 Jan 13)

Too much negativity! I know the turn out is a bummer but we should be looking forward for the future. For those that are busy with life, is it the size, or materials that are pushing you back? Or is it that you don't think you have time to do something to the standard you want? Or something else? @n...

Re: Ideas for future Group Builds (updated 1 Jan 13)

Mach-Ten I do see what you mean with the cover bonuses. It is kinda weird when only infantry get cover, and only when the whole squad is in it. Giant boxes for line of sight blockers is probably the most useful in terms gameplay. I think some medium sized pieces could still be useful for line of sig...

Re: Ideas for future Group Builds (updated 1 Jan 13)

I know it looks like group builds are a bit dead. Think we can at least make it to 80?

I suggest a group build using dryer sheets. I have waaaayyy too many lying around that I refuse to toss.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Looks good! I like the hex stuff as well. Looking forward to how you detail out those ramps.

Re: GB 78: Anti-Grav Floating Mines

Okay, so I've almost completed this on time... Dry brushed the mine and chain with 3 colors, a darkish gray, a red oxide, and a burnt orange. I started with a full heavy drybrush of gray, medium/spotty drybrush of the red oxide. Despite the pictures, the gray and red oxide still seemed too dark in p...

Re: GB 78: Anti-Grav Floating Mines

@Guildenstern I ended up holding the mine by the chain and just using a rattle can. I tried using my new airbrush but my dirty and ancient $2 craft paint would not come out of it. :[ I need to buy some supplies to get the paints usable. @LordMcAllister Thanks for the kind words! I think its coming a...

Re: GB 78: Explosions

Any chance I could get an extension? I got the mine fully primed in black, but very little progress in terms of a base for the mine.

:/

Will be the first group build in a year I haven't finished. :,( alas things really got away from me.

Re: GB 78: Anti-Grav Floating Mines

I got everything printed out and tested their fits. Everything went pretty smoothly had to debur a few edges here and there but they popped in and were relatively snug. Started off by testing the straw features, https://i.imgur.com/3ofQOgG.jpg Side Note I actually have bendy straws and I thought I m...

Dang those buildings look awesome! Are they kits, or scratch builds?

And wait, another gaming table? Where do you stash them all?

COMPLETED* - GB 78: Anti-Grav Floating Mines

I had three ideas for this group build focusing on explosions. None of which actually focusing on the exploded aspect but rather the going to explode part. The three ideas were: Orkish 'Fireworks' Stand Missle Silo (Using the mirror technique) Floating Mines I decided to go with the floating mines b...

Re: GB 78: Storage Tank Burst

Looking awesome man! Hopefully, you didn't get too many burns making that epic ladder. Glad to see things going well. I would suggest cutting some circles of various sizes of foam core for then ends of your barrels to hide the can-esk features. Best of luck!

These are some unpainted walls with a little mock battle between my Tyranids and Blood Angels from the Death Storm Box set.

Modular Scifi Walls (With Windows)

I noticed a detail that was lacking in many of the sci-fi wargaming walls that are in circulation and I tried to fix it. I created these files with the idea of fun narrative twists for your inner spaceship battles. I would appreciate a look at my Kickstarter page and any feedback you guys can give! ...

Looks particularly snazzy! Too bad about that shrinkage. Pesky washer.
