You can still reserve a squadron of 3 of them but uh... what were you planning on doing with 9 Basilisks in reserve? Winning games. :) If the enemy has a hard hitting alpha strike list, I was going to reserve 9. That way if I go first, they drive on at the end of my turn 1, with no penalty to hit b...

Take cover also now on works on vehicles.

Between that and the Tallarn nerf that wrecks a bunch of lists I wanted to try and the dex just got released lol. I haven't even had a game yet and I can't even try 9 basilisks in reserve! Not once-sad.

The new nid dex will be out by Nov 11th apparently so then we will have a whole bunch of new tricks to deal with the bio-mass that is humans. :)

GSC is interesting and I have only had success so far with lots and lots of genestealers. A 2K list I am using in a league is: Now I know that is more points then you are looking for and it includes nids but you can always scale this back to 1K. I basically take cheap troop units to sit on objective...

Yeah, this is for a super competitive tournament which is why I ask. :) I would love to un-retire some leman russes but if they start on the table they might get murdered by lascannons etc. I was thinking of holding back a hellhammer and 2 plasma or punisher russes in reserve using the tallaran stra...

I'd agree with Koonitz's final point, you'd expect units moving in from reserve to be moving full speed, also if you moved them on and tried to shoot it's cannon twice while playing against me I'd very much think you were the shortened name for someone called Richard Of course a FAQ may well say it...

With the new Tallarn stratagem you can reserve ANY 3 units, even leman russes or a hellhammer, which is why I am asking. :)

Reserves and grinding advance

When a unit comes in from reserve it counts as moving I believe.

Would it count as using its full movement for the purposes of grinding advance or could you come in from reserves and still fire twice?

Looking for some Tallarn OP-ness. :)

Bubble wrap with conscripts and use orders on them for extra shots. Elite armies with a 5++ save only for example really suffers from masses of dice. Plus the bubble wrap can keep them out of CC with the stuff you care about.

In about 10 games with my guard lists I only lose commisars if I am going to lose the entire game and that is because everything else is dead and the enemy is in my face. You can protect them in blobs but also put them in a ruin out of LOS or even just behind a big tank and you can block LOS, sniper...

Conscripts themselves aren't the problem. It's the fact that commisars break the morale mechanic by making them almost immune to checks. Summary execution should be a 1CP stratagem, in my opinion. Reece (from frontline gaming) also played against one of the tougher AM guard lists in his first game and beat it.
