Re: Official announcement: New 40k is coming.

Sorry if this question has already been asked and answered, but will all the Forge World units get new rules? I own two CSM decimator engines and I'd really like to continue to play with them.

Re: Tyranid Warriors Build

What else are you planning on using in your army? Are the genestealers going to be the focus units, or support? That's tough to predict this early seeing as how I've yet to field an army of tyranids. For what it's worth, if I had to make a prediction on what will be my army's most "critical" units ...

Re: Tyranid Warriors Build

If you're going to run genestealers, I would recommend to infiltrate them, and the best way to do that is in the manufactorum formation. Because it allows you to infiltrate within 6" of enemy units. More than likely I'll run genestealers; they're one of my favorite tyranid units in terms of the nar...

Re: Tyranid Warriors Build

I run them as shooting units. Give one a barbed strangler, and then kit the others out with devourers. You can sit them at a decent distance and try and pin down enemy squads leaving your Genestealers or Hormagants to then shred them in CC. That sounds like the best advice for my style of play. It'...

Re: Tyranid Warriors Build

I was considering barbed strangler and two deathspitters for a little shooting while they provide synapse. I'd rather not build a unit of only three for close combat.

Tyranid Warriors Build

I just picked up the Start Collecting Tyranids box set in hopes of slowly getting together a scary bug army. What weapons do you suggest I arm the warriors with? I imagine I'd like to use these dudes as mid-short range shooters, but I haven't played 40k in forever - and even when I did I didn't fiel...

Re: I've been gone a few years. A lot has changed.

@SweetSorrow I'm pretty pumped to revive my 40k hobby. I've missed building an army, discussing tactics, and writing out fluff for my favorite miniatures. And from what I can tell—it looks like it's the perfect time for a chaos space marine fanboy like myself to unleash hell across the table top onc...

Re: I've been gone a few years. A lot has changed.

I plan for my Terminator Annihilation Force to be a Black Legion detachment. It looks like that will allow me to be flexible and it makes my terminators troop choices. It will bump all my termys to Vets of LW of course at no additional cost. And the TAF detachment states "this formation's lord must ...

Re: I've been gone a few years. A lot has changed.

Okay, once again I'm in need of your input. I just picked up a terminator lord in order to run a Terminator Annihilation Force (and just to have one) and I'm unsure how to best equip him. Here's the plan. I already have ten termies—not counting the lord—and I want to break them into three units. Two...

Re: I've been gone a few years. A lot has changed.

Yes, more options is always better. Other strong Daemon Princes builds are: - Daemon Prince: Wings, Power Armor, Black Mace and Daemon of the god you want (People generally go for Nurgle or Tzeentch). That's the exact build I plan to go if I have the points. @Koonitz, thanks for the warning. I don'...

Re: I've been gone a few years. A lot has changed.

Great post Kovlovsky, you've given me a lot to consider! I actually have two special weapons in each of my ten mam CSM units I just didn't list them. Sorry about that. I believe they're double plasma, double plasma, and double melta. I like your suggestion about the third vindicator. I loved using m...

Re: I've been gone a few years. A lot has changed.

Thanks for the reply. I actually own the Traitor Legions book, but I'm not even a quarter of the way through it yet. It was a very recent purchase. I thought there might be value in posting on a forum like this—even if I had read through the entire book—because having been away from the game for so ...

I've been gone a few years. A lot has changed.

I shelved my CSM army at the end of fifth edition for a variety of uninteresting reasons. But I've recently succumbed to a growing itch — an itch to breathe life into my warband again and lead my evil soldiers back into battle. Here's where I need your help: my absence basically stripped me of most ...

Re: I've brewed up a new 40k RP

I had to move on to a more active rp site. I'll save this game for another time.
