Re: White Tau

Reminds me of painting High Elves back in the day. Paint them as is if their robes were just freshly laundered and bleached and no dirt would ever dare to stick to them.

Re: Primaris Space Marines

What do others think GW strategy apart from making money is with introducing Primaris?
I assume they are planning to refocus Space Marines armies in general to being all Primaris and give them the old feel of "super elite army" rather than how Space Marines feel right now, just kinda generic.

Re: Primaris Space Marines

I second everything Koonitz said. They are just expensive 2 wound Tac marines with less options. Sure, they are strong against small arms fire but they really aren't much of a problem if you point some heavier weapons at them since most have good Strength, decent AP and usually do multiple wounds pe...

Re: Secondary Saves - 8th Edition

Confusion happens because the way the save-after-save is written: "Molten Body: Roll a D6 whenever the Avatar of Khaine suffers a wound or mortal wound. On a 5+ that wound is ignored." it should say: "Molten Body: Roll a D6 for each point of damage or mortal wound inflicted on the Avatar of Khaine. ...

Re: Official announcement: New 40k is coming.

I wonder how they're going to add more rules with the codexes while keeping the rules balanced with the current system. Chances are they won't. It is "easy" to balance a system when everything is released together like how they are launching 8th. Once codexes start coming out and armies get differe...

Re: Undercoat/priming Space Wolves

I just checked the GW webstore and Chaos Black and Corax White are not listed as primers anymore. On WarhammerTV quick tips Duncan uses the "undercoat" sprays as the first layer before moving onto other base, layer or wash paints leading me to believe they are primers, or behave close enough. If thi...

Re: 8th Edition Grey Knight Question

Haven't seen the rules/changes for the Dreadknight, but they probably made sure it still fulfills its role as a match for Greater Daemons/"monstrous creatures". Probably won't be worth running more than 1 in a list though.

Re: Help Painting White

Also keep an eye on your brush. White paints have a tendency to dry pretty quick and get chalky/leave "crumbs". Clean your brush constantly and keep your pallet moist to extend the working time of white paints and minimize chalkiness and brush stroke lines

Re: Help Painting White

My $0.02 When you paint white, you don't actually paint it white. If you are confused by that statement, don't be, it'll make sense in a minute. When you look at the GW/FW sites and you see Biel-Tan Eldar, White Scars or those white Tau, they actually only use white paint to highlight (and primer). ...

Re: Making some model parts look shiny.

Using "Ardcoat (or similar brush on gloss varnish) would probably work fine, but I would probably go the other way around if the models had lots of smoother pieces of armor. Find a nice gloss varnish spray/airbush/rattle can that you like and then go over the parts that are not supposed to be shiny ...

Re: Eldar vs Tau

If it was me I would just never play him again because he just crowned himself "that guy". Otherwise, if you can proxy the models challenge the guy to a rematch and bring a Wraithknight Dream Walker Squadron formation: 2-5 wraithknights that gain a bonus to WS, BS, Movement and Charge equal to the n...

Re: Counts as models

If he doesn't want to get thunder wolf models then make him rebase and make sure the riders are given the proper weaponry. He should have plenty of extra spehss puppeh bits to gear them properly. He should make the effort to distinguish them from normal bikers.

Re: Autarch load outs

Would power sword and shuriken rifle be legal? I mention waiting because converting a super awesome autarch doing some gunkata with 2 fusion pistols might not be possible due to how the wargear is purchased. If it is a simple sword and Catapult conversion then you should be fine. That's like equipp...

Re: These Primaris Space Marines raise important questions

there was no training or indoctrination was there? they did have hypnotraining. But from the earliest days of their actual training they were told that they are the finest warriors in all existence, they are genetically superior, their cause is just and that the ideal space marine is fearless, unre...

Re: Official announcement: New 40k is coming.

On another subject, I think Charging from reserves is long overdue, it always felt so odd just standing there waiting to be shot when you'd just dumped 200 points of assault Marines on the back field. It will require some kind of counterbalance to ensure it isn't op though. I agree, for the most pa...
