Re: So a guy walks in to a Gaming Store

Just makes it more fun to beat them ;) do enlighten me on a way to beat a cheese list without cheesing or tailoring to beat them? I'd honestly like to see an example from every army. Bare in mind the fact most of the good armoured troops will be dropping turn 1 due to large blast Ap2 ignoring cover...

Re: What if....

I disagree. The game won't need to change by moving the fluff forward. There will still be threats from all of the major races. The problem with the 30k 40k gap is we know what happens. There is a lack of tension when it comes to the higher plot. But moving forward will drive some suspense. It's no...

Re: What if....

All of the above is why GW won't do that. Really though, they have thousands of years of fluff to explore, between 30k and the end of 40k. They have lots of battles where they can introduce new characters and leaders, lots of room to explore new units and old units. It's far easier to build on what ...

Re: What to do with the old rulebook

Hah! The sentiment you guys put on an outdated rulebook is pretty good. Actually, carefully removing the stitching and using some of the artwork as posters sounds like a great idea to me! Really, of all editions, would you go back to 6th? If you're going to jump an edition back, go back to 4 or 3 wh...

Re: Unbound Hellbrutes

Get the Helbrute Dataslate and then you won't even have to call it Unbound, since each entry in the Dataslate counts as a Formation, and you can make a Battle Forged army out of Formations.

Re: Lizardmen Skink Army

Y'know, now that I think about it, I probably did. I've been looking around other forums. It seems there are two ways to use a Troglodon.. either as a way for Slann Mage Priests to channel powers through, or as a flank controller with some Kroxigor or something. So, we'll see if I get the motivation...

Lizardmen Skink Army

Hey all, I'm slowly getting more and more interested in the Lizardmen again. I had an army that I enjoyed back in 7th edition, and I figure I'll wait until 9th edition before jumping in and buying the rulebook.. but to have fun, I did get a Troglodon with Skink on top because the model is just too c...

Re: Allied force of Sisters of Battle?

Mostly small allied detachments, an hq and troop and another unit of sisters to fit in with other imperial forces.

Allied force of Sisters of Battle?

Hey guys, I'm trying to make heads or tails of this Adepta Sororitas Codex we have here. I'd like to make a small allied force of Sisters of Battle to go along with my Space Marines. I was thinking a 5-girl squad of Battle Sisters with Melta Guns loaded up into a Multi-Melta Immolator and a cheap Ca...

Re: Command squad the new Sternguards?

I like taking the Command Squad with Plasma in a Drop Pod with a Librarian and Apothecary. It's a bit of a fire magnet, but when they drop they'll kill something, and they'll be more survivable thanks to the Librarian and Apoth FNP, so they'll hopefully be able to stick around for that second round ...

Re: 7th Edition - State of the Game

I just want to say I hope that this is the first edition of 40k in a long time that has every Codex at least one edition old. By the end of this edition I expect there to no longer be any 5th Ed codexes. I agree. It seems like GW really does want to get everything into hardback. That was the main b...

7th Edition - State of the Game

So. Short post here. We have 7th edition. The first Codex for 7th edition is to be Orks, most likely. The only Codexes that are not hardback (5th and older) are... Blood Angels Space Wolves Grey Knights Necron Dark Eldar Sisters of Battle On the horizon, we have rumors for Blood Angels, Space Wolves...

Re: Librarians can take Divination now?

*sigh* I was hoping for the same.

Really it's just a quick cheat sheet to show you what powers you may need access to given your list. You are still restricted by the rules of the codex that say what powers you have access to on a per-psyker basis.

Re: How to Counter D scythes wraith guard (eldar)?

With the new rules out, the way to kill them is... still the same. Plasma Guns, or massed fire from high strength weapons like Autocannons, or maybe even a Heldrake swooping over using daemonforge to re-roll those wounds (though you only get the 45 degree front ark to fire the baleflamer now). Sadly...

Lizardmen again?

I played Lizardmen for a very brief time a few years ago. Now, my FLGS seems to have thrice the number of Fantasy players as it has for any other game, and they all seem to be quite organized, and are playing more and more often. So, I'm thinking about Fantasy again, and I really like Lizardmen, but...
