Rick's first time painting! #theweeklypaint 2016

After years of slowly amassing models, I've finally found a group of friends who are seriously into the game, so now I finally have the motivation to work more on painting! I have Space Marines, and a custom chapter / colour scheme. I'm still working out where I want it to go, but I finally found a ...

In your experience, which of their core units is the most fun to build and paint? I need something to do this memorial weekend besides wor...

Re: Legion of the Damned

In their supplement they get some rad items (like opposing units within 12 that fail a pinning, morale, or fear test are removed, and for every enemy unit removed this way all LotD units get +1 FNP). I'm totally going to field at least one squad of these guys. If for no other reason than heavy weapo...

Legion of the Damned

Why don't more people field Legion of the Damned? I never see them, but reading their rules and going over their fluff, they seem AWESOME! Flaming dudes that ignore cover and can deepstrike right up next to the enemy. Am I missing something, because these things seems great! Side note, is their 6th ...

Re: New to 40k, have question about bat rep videos.

Honestly, for the most part it seems to be pretty random. You might find them saying stuff like that for videos that launch right when an army releases, as they will be mentioning the new things a lot. However with those videos you will also see a lot of mistakes as they are used to doing things the...

Re: It is 2016!

Lol that's fine. My only concern was me starting a thing and then a few days in a 2016 topic shows up. I guess this way I don't have to worry about that :)

Re: Splotchy Washes/Shades?

Alright cool, thanks for the advice. That answers another question I had about it changing the colour and how to deal with that on big things lik vehicles.

Since I'm just doing recesses and not the entire model should I switch to a detail brush from my Medium Shade Brush?

Re: Splotchy Washes/Shades?

Update! Progress has been made!

The helmet/shoulder areas now look a lot better, but I am still having trouble getting a smooth, not mottled coat on the legs. I find that without the strong recesses for the wash to sink into that it is a lot harder for me. Any tips on those long smooth sections?
