Re: Royal Highland Regiment of canada

I agree with Makarov on the book. The only other list that would be suitable would be the generic rifle company in Fortress Europe, but you're probably better off with TT. As for models, you'll want to use late war british rifle platoons and their appropriate support figures. Flames of War has rules...

Re: What are you looking forward to in the Island of Blood box?

I'm looking forward to both the rulebook (There's no way in hell I'm going to spend $90 on the hardcover) and the high elf miniatures. The one problem I see with trades is that multiple gryphons aren't that useful. I don't have the army book at hand right now, but I think it can only be taken by the...

Re: SHOWCASE.

The After Action Reports section of the official Battlefront forums are filled with some pretty good battle reports, many with pictures. http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126 My horribly painted and based (I know I'm going to have to redo it eventually, they were my first 15mm infantry) ...

Re: 8th Edition Dwarf Draft (3k)

I haven't seen the book, but based on reports you're limited to max. 3 of the same special choice and 2 of the same rare. If that's right you'll have to drop one cannon and one organ gun.

Re: PREORDER FANTASY RULE BOOK NOW

I can't accept the price. While it's great that it's full colour, so is the flames of war rulebook and that's only $63 and it's not as if a larger rule book is better, probably the opposite. I play High Elves, so I'll have a look at the box when it comes out. If the models are good and the price is ...

Re: HUMAN MEDIEVAL MINIATURES?

If you want footmen I suppose I'd go with Warriors of Chaos. There's no reason you can't paint them up bright and shiny.

Re: The biggest and Badest

As somebody who's starting a british artille... err rifle company I'll speak up for the british guns. Khornate would be right if the british only had the 25 pdrs, but if you play a rifle company (there may be other lists) you can get yourself a Medium Battery, Royal Artillery. The stats are the same...

Re: what is the best era to play

The correct answer of course is, as landraider1 wrote, whatever era your friends play and whichever interests you. However, if you're indifferent on those two points I'd suggest starting in mid-war. The reason is simple: many of the companies you'd build from in the mid-war lists are valid in late w...

Re: I think I've made the choice!

I've been thinking of starting a british rifle company (Italian campaign). From what I've seen the "Rifle Company" are the Italian campaign models where the "British Rifle Company" are the late war/normandy models. That's all that guided my choice in going with the former. You're right, the missing ...
