Re: Can your normal list stand up to 3 Knight Titans?

I play Necrons and my regular opponent is a IG player with 2 Knights. Last edition I was able to kill the Knights faster with Zahndrekh's tank hunter. 20 warriors rapid firing with rerolls (from stalker) and TH was op against them. Haywire crypteks could kill one knight a round and that was in a nor...

1850 tournament list. Need some help.

Hey I got a tournament in a month and was wondering if anyone could help me with my list. The games will be geared towards objective holding and survival. I have an option to take 2 fliers. I also own 2 squads of scions and a Thaurox, 2 sentinels and mortar teams and a few random regimental advisors...

Triarch Stalker Load out

How are you guys loading out the Triarch Stalker? Heat ray is 2 shots at 24 melta ap1. the gauss is 36 twin linked ap2. Im not too concerned about the particle shredder. I think if I did run a Judicator Battalion I would only bring the Heat Ray or particle shredder. What do you all think?

Re: ghost arks....are they worth it?

the arks are more powerful now then last codex. With the new detachment they are immune to shaken and stun, 10 points cheaper and got double the shots at 24 then they used too. 20 warriors with reanimation on a +4 backed by a ark repairing them every round is really powerful. The night scythe is sti...

Hey, I just picked up a starter set, played 1 intro game with a friend. What should i purchase next ? I heard a ravagore is good. If i wanted an ideal 25pt army what should the army look like ? Thanks for the help. I just dont want to drop money on models that suck or not as good as something else.

Re: C'tan not usable?

I played with the new C'tan rules last game. It was a 1750 pt game against IG. The C'tan is expensive and the greatest weakness is the +4 save. I played the NightBringer and it performed like I thought it would. The Shard killed a few heavy weapon teams and caused a few glances on vehicles. It was s...

Gauss flayer array

I played a game with the new rules last weekend. I had a argument over the new rules for the gauss flayer array. The weapon is a Salvo 5/10. The Ghost Ark is already relentless and may fire Salvo as if it hadn't moved. What am I missing? Why does this vehicle have a redundant weapon rule?

Re: Right brush for what job?

I do own and use Winsor & Newton brushes, they are considered some of the finest. For eyes I use a 000 Series 7 Miniature. It is of great quality and is fine enough of to paint pupils. For general highlighting I would just use a number 0. Also don't use a quality brush for basing. It will just wear ...

Re: Making minis look grimy

You can use a stippling affect with a sponge. Just apply a dark brown and hit the areas that would have kicked up mud, and repeat with a lighter brown. Also instead of just coating the model in a wash, try applying it as streaks. To appear as grime dripping down the armor plates. You can also look i...

Re: Best airbrush type for mini painting

I use a Iwata HP, I have had the brush close to 2 years now and it works great still. The problem that people have is they neglect the proper care of the brush. You need to clean the brush very thoroughly after every use, and have patience when you first start learning to use it. The brush was never...

Re: Dragon Scale

You can still use the stencil if your painting by hand, just add some adhesive to it. The stencil wont move around to much when you start to apply the paint. With the first layer it doesn't have to be prefect, you just need the general shape of the scales. Remove the stencil and touch them up.

Re: Black Necrons: How to add depth to them!

Hey Ace, I have been painting miniatures for years. As a beginner your best bet will be to dry brush a darker grey onto the model. If the affect is too overpowering, then just apply a black wash. it will give some definition to the miniature instead of having a matte black colour.
