Re: cheap version of GS?

I'm actually about to order some Magic Sculpt which I've seen used to make shields on youtube. It looks excellent and a lot of sculptors use it for larger-scale models. It works up fairly close to greenstuff, at least from what I've seen. It cures hard enough to do carving with a dremel and it seems...

Re: HELP need LOTS of Ideas! 40k

Doesnt completely matter when it ended. Others can still read these and pull ideas for their own uses. I know I look at older posts still and pool some inspiration.

Re: Looking for My Army!

Well Nurgle CSM seems like one of the most popular choices I've seen and should my closest friend, a Black Templar player, convert back to the hobby epic battles may ensue. We're the types who like to deviate from the books and go to making narrative campaigns and turn a game from its original purpo...

Re: Empire Knights to Gothic Knights

Shaving down the pointed and raised surfaces and adding plates of overlapping green stuff where you feel appropriate. Simple thematic barding would suffice for additional heraldry, though all in all its mostly going to be eyeballing where and how you want to remodel the unit Shaving the raised areas...

Re: First serious attempt to convert

I'm looking at making my first chaos army as well and obliterators are definitely out of my range of what I'd like to field. I'm thinking of taking a Nemesis approach from Resident Evil fame. Tubes and tentacles and huge boomsticks. You sir have been applauded.

Re: Ogre Conversion Into Spawns

Boils... abscesses... plaques. You may find yourself on the weird side of youtube again but looking up medical images of lesions and skin-related pathogens is the best way to go. Gangrene and necrosis would be good. Ugh.... now that I think about it my med classes seem more and more based on the way...

Re: HELP need LOTS of Ideas! 40k

A mobile tau corpsewagon would be a sweet looking DE model. Greenstuff entrails all about and it would look like a nicely ravaged platoon. Throwing spiky bitz and tau bodies on the pirahna with some gory goo all about seems strangely appropriate. Same for nids but you could take a variation from Ali...

Re: Tzeentch Fantasy Army

First of all, thank you for the quick response jbrown. Yes I have seen numerous bird references and a lot of people slapping a beak on their champions. Alas now methinks replacing the fur above the capes, namely on the warriors, with feathers would be a welcome start. Small discs would be incredibly...

Looking for My Army!

I am looking at getting into 40k after being a beloved watcher of Warhammer Fantasy. I do so love my aesthetic of Warhammer Fantasy, however 40k is another way I'd love to do more of my modelling. I feel a new love of collecting and wish to get back into the hobby as my long run of incredibly passio...

Tzeentch Fantasy Army

Greetings Battle Brothers! I am not new at being involved in the hobby and I have a great deal of experience within wargaming, yet I have incredibly little experience playing Warhammer myself due to a small community here in the (near) St. Louis area of Missouri. I am also especially limited due to ...

Re: High Elf army with heavy Chinese/Japanese theme...

I'm not sure how in-depth you wish to go with green stuff or any type of modeling but I think with an army list in mind more could be said. Do you have a particular army list in mind? I know some instances could be a naginata replacing the halberd of a phoenix guard. Swordmasters and shadow warriors...

Re: How to make green stuff tentacles.

Well done! I would never have thought of using a comb, especially being bald as I am.... Big time saver to my standard tedious lines I used to do with a sculpting tool.
