The bulk of the model is made from packing foam glued together with a hot glue gun. The foam melts easily so it took some practice to get the hang of how much and how fast you apply the glue. The next problem was paint. Not much sticks to it so after assembly I sprayed the foam with a good layer of textured spray paint used for stone effect garden furniture. This took a couple of days to dry and remained slightly tacky for a couple of weeks! I added some spare parts to form lights and detailed walls etc. then added moss around the edges. The whole thing is mounted on a light foam board and dry brushed and wet brushed with what ever dark colours I had at hand. The project was a bit chaotic esp with the kids "helping" so I'm really chuffed it looks like anything at all.
