I love how marker lights can cause grounding test.

Tau Says"quick use you laser pointer and shoot that bloodthirster in the eye"

Bloodthirster says" ARG MY EYES, THE GOGGLES THEY DO NOTHING"

NEW FAQ OUT! As in v1a, they tidied it a little up and changed a few things, sadly everything is written in Magenta still so hard to know waht is new.

The gliding monstrous creatures and zooming flyers are the opposite modes for the sake of that novas, auto hits etc part. It appears to mean you can do all those things to a swooping monstrous creature. I assume they wrote that part wrong in the Rulebook errata and meant to say swooping.
Do you agree?

I notice now that the Aegis defence lines can only be used in an unbroken line now - shame

Like the video even if I no longer play 40k, always tempted to go back but won't be for a number of years.
Also on a small note, had to pause to deal with the pooch but Matt's beauty face comes out at 37:44

It says on page 57 for ranged weapons under missile launchers, that only some have the option to upgrade to include flakk missiles. (it was my understanding that it meant that it had to be written under your specific weapon)

Great video guys. I too have found that most of the new rulings should be classed as errata and not FAQ, but what can ya do!
Will you be releasing any Codex specific Errata/FAQ Videos in the near future!?

And so there is already a Rulebook Errata/FAQ v1.0a out. Locked velocity is one of the changes, I didn't read v1.0 so I don't know the rest.
Zogash85 (8 months ago): - delete
I just reread the FAQ and noted that Locked Velocity for Cruising speed is now always 36"! Ouch. Should be quite hard (impossible?) to do anything useful (i.e. line up with a target) with a locked flyer that can only turn up to 90° and has to go a full 36" before it can shoot. That's hard enough at 18-24", at 36" it's going to be a nightmare!

I can see the point of reducing LoS-ing in Nob squads, but I hate, hate, HATE the fact that now - in a squad of belligerent, pumped-up-on-orktosterone brawlers that pride themselves in smashing in skulls - the puny Painboy is the only one that can fight in challenges! It's just retarded! It just makes no sense whatsoever. At all.
It would have made far more sense for GW to just state that characters in charcacter-only squads count as characters for challenge matters only. Done. Not overpowered, but sensible.

@fulcrum:
the new chaos missile launchers will be allowed to buy flak missiles
fulcrum (8 months ago): - delete
@something witty: I'm right with u there. Fliers r obviously made to force every1 to either buy fliers or fortifications. Thats also why they refuse to FAQ any Skyfire into any of the existing codexes.
fulcrum (8 months ago): - delete
Flyers r still broken OP & underpriced. They need to do something about this or all you will see winning touneys is massed fliers.
gen-oneill (8 months ago): - delete
That's why Imperial Guard are awesome, cause we already have an anti-flyer ground unit. Hydra flak tank was updated as having the rule that allows them to fire with regulars BS against flyers.

re: gun emplacement on top of a building - i'm guessing the RAI is that you need one unit occupying the building, and one unit on top to fire the gun.
Navcom3 (8 months ago): - delete
Bastion and Aegis defence line wipe out flyers very easily unless its marines (AV12) Icaras lascannon strength 9 if hits penetrates on a 2 before the flyers can fire. My Dark Eldar friend gets killed 4 times out of 5. Especially Marines again with signum and emplacement = dead flyer
Navcom3 (8 months ago): - delete
The transport assault really effects my Storm Eagle gunship. You can only use it as an assault vehicle if keep stuff in it until turn 3. This sucks

I played a match against a Necron army with a flyer with my flyerless Tau army and won. I think that they are powerful but not an instant win button.

I miss the clarification of how the rules "I am Batman" and "Enyone can be Batman" interact.
Steelmage99 (8 months ago): - delete
As a person that mentions "Order of Operations so much, I cannot believe that Matt thought that all Missile Launchers got Flakk missiles.

Flakk Missiles are "talked about" in three different places; An illustration (page 55), a summary (page I don't remember) and a rule (page 57).

An illustration can easily and simply be dismissed as having any meaning rules-wise, and we are told how to resolve any differences between the summary and the rules, ie. rules "win".

And the rules for Missile Launchers say that all Missiles Launchers come with Krak and Frag, and that SOME (meaning not all) have the OPTION (meaning not automatically) to UPGRADE (implying that there might be a cost) to Flakk Missiles.

first FAQ on page 3 keeps refering to gliding MC, not FMC.

being a friendly game doesn't mean they can make sloppy rules or don't try and fix there mistakes. Having said that I am glad to see they are fixing some mistakes and answering FAQs. I hope they continue this in the future @xXJediNiteXx:

What is needed to return balance to flyers is the ability to purchase an upgrade, like the target lock for Tau, for certain weapons. Allow Walkers, Razorbacks, Predetors and other vehicles with Assualt or Auto Cannons to purchase the Skyfire rule as an upgrade.

xXJediNiteXx (8 months ago): - delete
I would think the fact that GW makes sure to remind you that you can make up your own rules every 3 pages of their book shows that they intend for the game to be friendly. Heck, even the section of their website with the FAQ's says that these are just suggestions
something witty (8 months ago): - delete
flyers are unbalanced for a reason. the same reason vehicles were so good in 5th to sell models. and its clearly working once everyone has already bought a bunch of flyers they will get the nerf so they can sell more of their other models

Nice Tyranid Buff!
No more debate about the bone swords, Trygon prime can now precision strike and challenge and just imagine a Hive Tyrant vector striking flyers and shooting at them with full BS. Sweet!

Games Workshop is just brilliant. All these discussions of their flawed rules just make people get more into their game. And it spawns a whole sub community of "What the hell is this sh*t rule" fixers.

jeppe (8 months ago): - delete
hé matt, every army van take the ageis defence line with the quad gun, and even tyranids can shoot these because nids can't shoot emplaced weapons but these are gun emplacements and count as artilery and emplaced weapons are the things that are weapon upgrades of a building

@Aurgelmir:

"The Psycher must have line of sight to his target."

All I am saying is that you missed out the crucial 'Unless otherwise noted'.

Just because it isn't bolded doesn't mean it doesn't apply.

So when the power says it does not require LOS (e.g. Nova) or does not have/require a target (or indeed the target was the pysker himself) the rule is rendered null and void.

The way you were stating it was as if it always applies to a targeted power (universal as you say) when it clearly isn't in some cases.
