Very very un-orthodox take on a BA list. Frankly commendable too.

On a side note, I think he poured a little too much fire on to the 6-strong gaunt unit. 1 VP is nice, but in Purge the Alien, considering VPs/KPs are abundant, better fire distribution would've served him a lot better.

For starters, the riflemen hunkered down in the ruins way in the BA backfield should've been firing for the Venomthropes, as should the bikes with their multi-meltas. S8 ID on the 'thropes would've been harsh for future prospects of cover saves for the 'nids.

Ah well, part of that was due to Matt making quite a few saves, so it wasn't all in his control I guess.

Definitely a different BA list, but to each their own. One of the better games Matt games I have watched as it is nice to see some solid strategy on each side. Lee.

@ordoxenosguy1

Only if it's Barrage.

@cpt420

true, however the Venomthropes give a 5+ cover save to the entire unit if one model of which is within 6". Ork Kustom Force Fields and Blood Angel Shield of Sanguinius functions similarly.

The best part of those abilities is it negates Focused Fire, since the entire unit has cover, and not just a few models. (If some units in the group have better cover, e.g. from Fortifications, then they can still Focus Fire).
cpt420 (Over a year ago): - delete
@ Lumppu, cover saves apply to every model separately. If the in cover models are closer then they will have to take the wounds first.
ordoxenosguy1 (Over a year ago): - delete
the ba player forgot that you remove whoever is closest to the blast when he lost the terminater
Arcticor (Over a year ago): - delete
aaaahhhh new tyranid models!!!
Lumppu (Over a year ago): - delete
Do you get cover save in 6th edition for the whole unit or every model separately?
zteknon (Over a year ago): - delete
you took smite? on a tervigon? fair enough. buy all three powers and trade em until you get good powers. I usually roll biomancy on swarmlord/hive tyrants and telep/telek on tervigons. with an occasional biomancy for variety.

If you measure 21.5" from the long edge and 14.5" on the short edge and connect the points, you create a line exactly 12" from the center line. i drape a string over to show it, I find it easier than using dice to mark out the center then measure 12 from that, as I used to do
panzer903 (Over a year ago): - delete
hey Matt,
You might want to glue weights to the bottom of your Hormagaunts. Thin washers or lead weights for fishing should work.
NubCheese (Over a year ago): - delete
finally, a tyrnaid battle report!
