Regarding the knockdown question, there are 2 ways to stand up. During your control phase, the warjack or warcaster can use one point of focus to stand up after allocating. Or during their activation, they can forfeit their movement or action to standup.

Madrak also should have hit Sorscha while knocked down her def drops to 5.

Sorscha could have popped her feat and killed Madrak turn 3. With windrush, her threat range in crazy far, and her feat means auto hitting melee attacks. Good game!
