The Epic Hobby: Carbon Fibre

DownloadDownload (Vault Members Only)

I'm sorry I've taken so long between episodes!
Long story short, it's taken me a while to get a set up where I was happy with the quality of the recorded video. I still think my hand is in the way a *little* too much on this one, I probably need to raise the camera a bit higher yet. On the upside, my current painting setup is *nearly* dogproof... at least, the camera is.

You should make a video on having a weapon glow effect. Like Tau Railguns, or different power weapons.

not to hate or anything and while it is an effect that kind of looks like carbon fiber this video has 5 minutes with you just putting small metalic stripes on a black basecoat. check out http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/400521--XV9 Commander R'Alai CarbonFiber n Shields.html for fun with real carbon fiber

Hey, Mike, in your next video you could try to tilt your desk a bit so the camera is looking a bit more towards the front of you.

what does metalic paint look like with a matt finish sprayed over top? Gray?
rentaspoon (9 months ago): - delete
BTW a gloss would give the effect of "wet carbon fibre" where as a matt one would give you a "dry carbon fibre" look... yes they both exist.

Could you do a tutorial on a Camouflaged skin like you'd find on Catachan (Camouflage over the skin so it looks camouflaged, but still like skin) Also, this looks really cool i just don't know what to use it on.

Just realized I didn't use a cork like normal to support the model.... may have something to do with the bad visibility as well.

@nikzu: That doesn't really work - I've tried it, and my head ends up in the shot more often than my hands do - I tend to lean forward when I paint.

@tolkeinmad: I might have some spare Zombies kicking around.. I'll keep this in mind!

Welcome Back!
Maybe its better to have the Camera over the left shoulder for right hander.

Can I put in a request for a tutorial on decaying or rotting flesh? Basically Undead flesh would be the theme. Thanks!

about the camera position. u should keep the camera in front of u, or just shoot right above of the model. then you dont have to worry about your hands been away
