Square-Circle Base Magnetic Conversion Tutorial

I got a unit of Bloodletters a while ago and finally decided to work on them. Since they come with both kinds of bases, I wanted to be able to play them in both 40k and Fantasy. I thought that magnetizing the individual feet would be far too much of a hassle, so I customized the bases.

This is a tutorial on how I did them.

Materials: you are going to need a circle base and a square base (obviously). You only need one of each per base. You'll need styrene as well, or some kind of sturdy material. I used 1mm thick styrene. And you'll need magnets. I used one 1/32"x3/16" and one 1/16"x3/16" magnet per base.

1. Glue one of the magnets onto the bottom of the base. Try to get it as close to the centre as possible. Then glue the other magnet onto the styrene, again getting it as close to the centre as possible.

2. Take out your square base and cut it into 4 pieces.

You should end up like this.

3. Now cut and file those pieces down so they fit onto each corner of your styrene slab.
