My 1st ever painted squad!

I just played my first ever game this past weekend! I'm hooked, and I can't stop painting my mini's.

I've watched a ton of the video tutorials, and Jawaballs is awesome. He has amazing tips and technique videos for painting SM.

This is my first ever squad painted. I did not ink wash them. But, I did however prime them Chaos Black. I used UltraMarine Blue for the armor and Chainmail for the chrome highlights. Blood red, and Graveyard Earth were also used.

The table is something I custom built for painting. It has a diffused 3 bulb tracing lamp mounted below a frosted glass top, and I use a regular lamp desk for top>down lighting. This creates a great light flood effect that allows for no shadows.

The table itself is a corner desk I bought at Frys Electronics. I didn't build it, haha.

Very good, considering these are your first minis. Although, one thing you can do to make your mini look better is to to use so mush paint on your brush. Put your paint on the pallet, add a drop of water in and wipe off some of the paint on the brush. This will help your models look smoother and better-looking. This technique often leaves some of the color from the previous coat show through, just do another coat. Great job for your first minis.

Dude, lookin good. Especially for your first painted minis. You couldn't be watching any better painting vids than jawaballs so stick with him. And as far as washes go, hey it's your first squad! you'll get the different techniques down as you go =D

Both, I have a tracing lamp with 3 neon bulbs and thne the desk lamp as well.

Look super nice. Just have to say I love that table. Is that light coming from below the desk or the lap?

Im just happy to start playing. A friend of mine let me have his Space Marines from his Assualt on Black Reach kit, and I bought an Assualt Squad in celebration.
