Hey this scott or miniwargaming2 with my first article for my series on making a tyranid army.

First why did I choose these aswesome devourers of the warp. WEll this was all inspired by miniwargaming Matt's tyranid force. And I like the idea of 1,000 creatures plunging a civiliasion into darkness eating all they find.

For me it was also a tough choice between tau and the awesome creatures of the warp aka the tyranids. But then my friend nic started a tau army of his own so I choose tyranids.

When I just got off with it I looked around www.miniwargaming.com for some ideas of what to do, and I found the creation of an endless swarm videos so I figured out what I needed, gaunts.

So I headed down to the local toyworld (unfortunatly they don't have a large range) and found some of the old gaunts in other words the set with 8 hormagaunts, 8 termagaunts and 1 ripper swarm base. With that done I had them assembled in a night and thought about my paint scheme. I ended up going for one similar to that of hive fleet krakens with a slight veriation in the fact that they had 3-4 yellow stripes on them (I'll get up some pictures next artice.)
