Scenic Bases: What do YOU want?

Hi MiniWarGamers!

I'm going to keep this short: I'm planning on greatly expanding the range of Scenic Bases I offer through Epic Duck Studios and the MWG Store in the near future, and I'd like to know what types of bases you guys want! Be as descriptive as possible, link to helpful images if you want, stuff like that.

I only ask that you don't request anything incredibly army-specific. I don't want to go stomping all over someone else's intellectual property

So have at it! Give me some suggestions!

Mike

personally I have noticed a dearth of jungle themed bases. Vines, mulch, snakes, tree trunks. I have a cammo themed Tau army and I would love to be able to ger some pre-made bases.

Wait, if you are going to make bases, why not make some nice objective markers, focus allocators, etc.?

One other question: Would there be any interest in Scenic Bases with a built-in slot, for models like Gaunts and Ork Boys?

How about some city terrain? Like have chunks of building peaces. Also, how about a Warhammer Fanasty base line?

also, slotted bases would be cool, but make both so you aren't stuck with it for other armies.

@HenElten: Yes, War themed bases would be awesome. However, I assume the rules of it being illegal to sell cities of death pieces would aslo carry over to a base with a dead tyranid or lasgun on it. However, if you sculpted ytou own wounded guardsmen, would it be illegal to have an aquila or lasgun with it? Because if not, tha would be a cool base for any army (probably on a 40mm or higher, though). Think of a weapons team setting up to cover, or a medic on a scenic base, or a battlesuit flying over and gunning him down. Pefect.

I think crystal themed bases would be neat. Kind of just like crystal jutting out for the base on the necron lord with res orb.

I'd like forest bases. Most ranges have various paved patterns, ruins and ground/mud bases, but only a few have forest themed bases. And I'd very much like them square for fantasy.

something that looks like ancient ruins..but that does not extend significantly past the base edge.

i think you should make some movement trays that are all 2 iches apart (more towards perfectly spreading out 40k models then anything) with some cool stuff going on like a jungle and each modle gets a jungle like base too or cliff sort of thing

Jagged rocks pointing upwards around the model standing on rubble where it might have landed... forming a mini crater.
Things that imply action.. dust and debris kicking up or a tree trunk sliced in 1/2 with both parts falling on either side of the model.

Pls make bases for Jim infantry by putting them on a flying base. Also u should do lava bases

I think you should design bases according to race, (fluff, enemies, and places of residence)for instance you could make an eldar unit's base have a piece of broken craftworld or a dead tyranid or something like that.

@natsm: It would be illegal for me to make bases using 40K buildings and sell them.
natsm (Over a year ago): - delete
why dont you do a rocky base or get some 40k buildings and add them
Epic-Duck-Studios (Over a year ago): - delete
@HenElten: My biggest reason for not making flying bases is that it's pretty easy to add a flight peg to a scenic 25mm or 40mm base... I realize the size isn't exactly perfect, but it does sort of make Flying Bases the last base on my mind.

@Roy-Batty: I was actually talking with Joe about ideas for doing "the whole tray makes a scene" bases... so it's on my mind
HenElten (Over a year ago): - delete
TBH, I think what ever kind of bases you decide to make, you should make the entire range - also flying bases. If ppl decide they want specific bases for their army, it would be sad, if they couldn't get it for their flyers... it might even make them not select your bases...

P.S: I've always wondered why there are no war-themed bases, with muddy footprints/trackprints, dropped weapons and corpses?

Mike it would be wonderful if you made a basing tutorial video showing how to make/paint desert bases and rock cropping bases

I am in no way affiliated to them, but I love:

Well, although I like the idea of specific bases with slots for specific models, but I would make them for non basic units. At least for myself, i'm not prepared to pay a lot for bases for basic units (Unless they come in larger packs at a great price...). I actually bought the bases you already produced and I love them. I would like fantasy bases that form a whole in a movement tray (considering the comment above ofcourse) or for both 40k and fantasy hero bases that are higher (Like rocks, skulls, etc) to make them stand out more. I would be willing to pay for that. Oh yeah, and bases that have room for still water!

I would actually like some eldar/dark eldar scenic bases. Either that or some city bases.

I would love to see dessert bases and Ruins bases

@tyranick7: I'm hoping that when I make bases going forward, I'll be making them to match most common base sizes: Round 25, 40, and 65mm plus 25x75mm Bike bases, Square 20, 25, and 40mm plus Cavalry bases, and Beveled 30, 40 and 50mm bases (WM style). I may do flying bases as well, but I don't think they'll be a priority.
