@BewareOfTom: actually blood lance wouldn't be affected by the aegis, as it doesn't specifically target an enemy unit, it just affects them.

@tyranid96: If that was your first game playing as Grey Knights, you did acceptable as a first-time player. The rules can be confusing, and that's one of the problems of using an army with so many confusing rules. You'll get the hang of the rules as you play more games, and then the Grey Knights, though overpowered, are not as overpowered. Keep on playing and it'll get easier.

the aegis on works on psychic powers aimed at the unit, so unleash rage would be made normally, but stuff like blood lance, or blood boil, would be affected by the aegis

Oshinagaki and kronicpsycho are right. "The model wielding a Nemesis warding stave has a 2+ invulnerable save against wounds caused in close combat." GK Codex p.54.

The 2+ save is only for the Grey Knight holding the stave.

Dear Dave. Around the 7:00 mark in this video you refer to "using Unleash Rage on a unit of Grey Knights" or something to that effect and thus taking the hit to your Leadership from Aegis. This is not the case, at least not with Unleash Rage, as the power doesn't target the enemy but is rather a buff on your own unit. Granted you simply used that as an example of how the Aegis works, but I feel obliged to point this out so that no misinformation is given to other people. Yes, I am indeed a horrible nitpick

The 2+ invulnerable save for strike squads only applies to the model with the warding stave I believe

an idea for you: just put a card with the info of your squad with the special rules then like that you will not forget

Hey Dave,

I would say you get to move 9 after regrouping.

Page 1 of the Blood Angels FAQ.

Q: When a unit with the And They Shall Know No Fear
special rule regroups, do they get to immediately move
up to 3" as well as moving as normal that turn? (p23)
A: Yes.

I am asking just out of my own curiosity to think what would have happened. *maybe* of course but a 2+ on 20 models would be like on average 16 should be saved.

Dave, you should probably make a check list for your units to remind you their rules. Example "choose target, roll to hit, roll to wound, count up sixes and declare rending..."

Dave, you should use a different colored dice for the vehicles with rending. That's what I've done with my Grey Knight's with all the Psycannons and it really helps me remember.
