I would still like to suggest linking to the games you talk about, it often takes a while to get the Rules you got Wrong up, and sometimes you forget the game (or haven't seen it yet)

Hang on... Oo The title says "Dark Angels Tactical vs Chaos Cultists" but you're talking about the Ravenwing vs Cultists scenario! Stop confusing me, you fiend!

Actually, you seem to have ignored the mission's special rules entirely, since they require (!) all cultists to move their full 6" towards the RW if possible, and the pistol-armed cultists MUST declare a charge if they are within 12". For a scenario like this, ignoring parts of it really breaks the balance. The Ravenwing essentially has to outmaneuver the cultists, which is made far harder if those can move freely as opposed to having to make a bee-line towards the marines.

In addition, since the pistol cultists have to charge even though they are unlikely to roll high enough to actually make it into combat, this gives the RW additional chances to thin the ranks via overwatch fire (which is quite effective with TL bolters, btw).

If played correctly, the RW stand quite a good chance to outflank the cultists in the first two encounters and turboboost off the field.
A nice way to counter this is to place the autogun cultists 12-17" directly in front of the RW (so they can rapid-fire turn 1) and the pistol cultists exactly 12.001" to one side of the RW, keeping the 9" distance from the others.
Now turn 1, move all cultists 6" in, rapid-fire, shoot pistols, and charge. If lucky, you can take out 1-2 bikers this way, though your CCW squad will probably be annihilated in melee. The surviving RW will probably turboboost off the board, so just repeat the above in the following encounters.

Using this tactic, I have won 2 out of 3 times, the one loss due to an insanely lucky RW sergeant who simply refused to die.
