Rules you get wrong for the rules you get wrong video... Space Marines CANNOT buy a Plasma gun for a 5-man tactical squad as stated by "Nethemo" (sp?)

Furthermore, it's probably best you point out there is a distinct difference between "special" and "heavy" weapon options. The former being flamers, melta guns, and plasma guns, the latter being everything else.

About 6:30, it is incorrect that for each 5 men in a tactical squad you can choose a special weapon. It actually says "if the squad numbers 10 models, one marine can replace his bolter for... (insert weapon options)" so in order to have any weapon upgrades at all you need 10 models

I just checked the video, your shas'o had twin-linked missle pods, an AFP, and another special weapon that escapes my memory, not trying to be hateful just letting you know.

Dan, for your Tau you really want to get some Forgeworld tetras. After the latest FW update for them they are legal for normal games and have a "focused markerlight" which gives you four dice of markerlight each, combined with a targetting array they massively outperform pathfinders.

Sure, that is definitely the case with this new edition, unless otherwise specified by the codex. FAQ only addresses what blacksun filters do now that 6th edition is out, but the codex clearly says that it only benefits the model if it is the individual was upgraded with the wargear.

I feel like EACH model still needs to upgrade to a blacksun filter in order to benefit from Night Vision based on the codex wording.

sure you can give your shas'o, shas'el, shas'vre and crisis suit team leaders three weapons (e.g. twin-linked missile pod and a plasma rifle or vice versa), coz they have access to the hard-wired multi tracker. Read closely on the Tau codex page with all the weapons, support systems and armoury...the overview for battle suits.

Scratch that, Was reading the wrong FAQ, so they have night vision if they take it, but It's still only by model.

A: Pretty sure Blacksun Filters don't do anything anymore.

B: Pg 26 of the Tau Codex. "Only models equipped with a Blacksun Filter gain any extra benefit." It's by model. You need to take 3 for the full battlesuit squad to benefit from it.
