@DavicusPrime: Unfortunately this is how ship battles happen IRL and mucking around with that will not represent the genre properly. All ship battles are explosive on first contact and then peter out as damaged ships limp off. The only way I have found to fix this is with really draconian morale rules that end the game rather quickly.

@DavicusPrime: I agree. I almost wish that it wasn't like that, and somehow could be faster paced, while still allowing things to happen as late as the 5th or 6th rounds.

Looks a lot like the way Battlefleet Gothic plays. A turn of manouvering, a couple turns of trading fire and watching most of the real damage happen. Then several turns of chasing after each other with minimal impact until we run out of time.
