I use 9 buggies outfitted with rokkits in mu current list, and have had great success with them. I shoot with the three rokkits first, popping the rhino's, which allow my trukks full of boys to mow into the squads. 4-0 so far.

I know you mentioned them blocking units, they work just as well for herding transports. They dont work as well as skimmers but, if you play smart you loose the skimmers dodge though you can still get the 4+ cover as you can take them in a squadron.

This means they are not as good vs being rammed by av13/14 at less than 3"(str 4/5) av 14 still needing 5 to glance 6 to pen, though if they ram this ties them up in the shooting phase. Against av11/12 (str 2/3 )it's a different story, also the potential 4 cover from other ranged units, 6's to hit in assault and a good chance of leaving dangerous/difficult terrain behind if they are hit they are a very effective unit for directing a transport where you would rather it go. At then end of the day if 60pts of buggies delays 500pts of land raider laiden with termies or 300pts of death company in a rhino for a turn or 2 or forces them out of cover before they die I wont argue with that.

hehe i have 6 (used to have 9 but traded 3 for an lotr army of the dead.) and they are awesome whenever i end uup using them. i once torched a squad of ig vestroyen vets that just got out of their transport. they barely survived and they ended up doing nothing all game

I have 1 Flame buggy which torched half my mates Fire warrior squad, he then shoots it and blows it up killing the other half... Great distraction

theyre a good way to manipulate the field. park them where you want a crater. this goes for all skimmer-like vehicles.

I think the reason they aren't that popular is (at least, partially) due to the model. The official model looks very... outdated. Then there's the fact they are so squishy, that a lot of players write them off as useless.
