Q: How can the IC gain the special rule to come on any table edge with the Kommandos? P. 48 of the rule book states (Special Rules) seems to state differently. Just thought I would ask because I know it will come up.

Ahh yes, slow and purposeful treat clear terrain as difficult not 2d6. I see the trick to it. I stand corrected on that point.

Oh and sorienor I directed it to you because although you may have been responding to the video I was responding to you!
sorienor (11 months ago): - delete
@CrookedBird: Ghazzy, as an IC has move through cover. Since kommandos also have move through cover, you get 3d6.

Also I was replying to the video, not any other comments so I don't know why you directed that at me...

Oh, I posted my previous comment before I saw you put the dice out on the board. It appears you did know what you were talking about for Snikrot, sorry about that.
Buderick (11 months ago): - delete
Hey Dan,

Just so you know, Infiltrate works like so; the unit can be placed 18" from any enemy or 12" if out of line of sight.

Also, Snikrot's ambush rule allows him to come on from ANY table edge, meaning he can come on from the enemies deployment zone. It's better than you think it is.

You should give them a go, I'm sure you'd like them.
CrookedBird (11 months ago): - delete

Oh and zand97206 Gazzys slow and purposeful is the best of 2D6 for moment, same as everyone else's. Hope that will help you out a bit.

@sorienor
I understand that the ability to bring IC with commandos with or without snikrot is perfectly legal. The issue is the IC cannot separate from the group whether outflanking, ambushing or just walking on the board edge because once again the update states
"A: If an independent character is arriving FROM RESERVE
together with a unit, whether it is outflanking OR NOT, he
cannot leave the unit during the turn it arrives. He can, of
course, leave it as normal from the following turn."

I apologize for the use of caps but I cannot use italics or highlight in this format.

So once again as Snikrot + IC is most defiantly arriving from reserve the IC cannot separate from the group her arrived with on the turn they arrive.
sorienor (11 months ago): - delete
It may seem nit-picky, but it's really not. Snikrot does NOT outflank. He uses his own ability called Ambush! This is also why he can bring an IC with him.

There's a guy in my gaming league that has Snickrot and Gazkull outflank and kill just about anything because you roll 3d6 for Gazzy's movement (curse slow and purposeful) and then 6 on the waaaagh and then the 6 for the charge... that's huge and gazzy's str 10 klaw is just painful...

Dez (11 months ago): - delete
The choice is easy: Snikrot and Burnas! The reason I say this is you always hit rear armor in assaults on vehicles, and most rear armor is 10. You will be charging, so even your basic boy has a chance to glance. Good Ol' Snikky with his Str 6 on the charge is going to ruin vehicles.

I like to take full units, for a couple of reasons. One, is so there are ablative wounds. I want those Burnaz and Snikrot to stick around as long as possible.

The second is so I can multicharge units and/or vehicles by spreading them out when they come in from reserves.
CrookedBird (11 months ago): - delete
@Founiman40k
as the update states "whether it is outflanking or not" Snikrots rule does not matter, the unit is still arriving from reserve.
Founiman40k (11 months ago): - delete
@CrookedBird
The IC can leave the unit if it had the Boss Snikrot upgrad because this is'nt outflanking it'S "ambush" special rule so u can chose any table edge, attach a warboss and then make him leave after the come from reserve

Good ol Snikrot... mine's almost painted up, gonna have so much fun with this guy! Waaaagh!!!

Just looking at he main rulebook FAQ 1.1 on page 8 it states:

Q: If an independent Character is joined to a unit that is
outflanking, when can he leave the unit? (p94)
A: If an independent character is arriving from reserve
together with a unit, whether it is outflanking or not, he
cannot leave the unit during the turn it arrives. He can, of
course, leave it as normal from the following turn.

This would prevent an attached warboss etc. from breaking off and attacking a separate target from the commandos would it not?
RoberttheWise (11 months ago): - delete
I didn't really get, why there is a choice between powerclaw and snikrot to be made? I thought, snikrot was an independant character and could just be brought aditionally to a normal squad of commandos.

For vehicles I bring a nob with 2 rockets and for infantry snikrot with 2 burnas.

I think that might be a rectangle.
Great video as usual.
