destuctir (2 weeks ago):
i thought the owning player of the squadren equally allocates the glances and pens as if they were wounds then roll to see what happens to each vehicle seperately
killerchaos (6 weeks ago):
Matt I just sat down and watched every single necron video and I must start now. Please do some tactica and painting things.
Rocky69 (3 months ago):
Does anyone know where I can get the faq?
RaawHax (3 months ago):
Can a Royal Court contain 0-5 Lords and 0-5 Crypteks or is it 0-5 Lords OR 0-5 Crypteks?
mcrjay23 (4 months ago):
@Virideon: thanks for answering i thought he did need to take the test twice, but he argued it wasnt fair so i let it go lol.
Virideon (4 months ago):
@mcrjay23:

I believe it will have to take the test twice, and will attack itself if it fails either. However, it won't get any more than d3 attacks on itself - even if it fails both tests.
mcrjay23 (4 months ago):
i have a question if anyone can help?

happen in a game i played: two lords with mindshackle scarabs in close combat with a daemon prince does the prince have to take the test twice? only if the 1st test is pasted?

Thanks in advance!
VDOR103 (4 months ago):
Hey Matt.

Curious how you translate the 2nd line in C'tan's Writhing Worldscape ability description. Does everything fail on 1 or 2? Or only models 'already' in dangerous terrain...
Virideon (4 months ago):
I was pleased with the Necron faq; I just wish that they'd been so generous with the Tyranid faq - there were several stupid rulings I'd really hoped would be reversed.

dannyryan (4 months ago):
will people stop moaning about mind shackle scarabs? yes they overpowered but easy to overcome as fluffypanda said. and besides, have you forgotten psychotrope grenades from grey knights? they do pretty much the same thing but on a bigger scale.

MasterM (4 months ago):
I agree with FluffyPanda- even though when I played Matt, my Guargantuan Squiggoth suffered from the mindshackle scarabs. Although I noticed there's now a house rule that it doesn't affect gargant. creatures (not mentioned in the FAQ though).
Basically when played against the Necrons, make sure you send in the fodder if also enganging with a character/creature- just a change in tactics. Those robots have more trickery than the Eldar....

FluffyPanda (4 months ago):
I don't understand why people were expecting the FAQ to "fix" mindshackle/canoptek scarabs... FAQ documents clarify the rules in the codex and correct mistakes, they aren't intended to change the way a codex plays.

Mindshackle scarabs are great, but not hard to neutralise for most armies. Charge in with Ork boys and you're only going to be losing a single 6 point model to the 15 point upgrade. If you let Mephiston or a Demon Prince get taken out by them then that sucks, but maybe you should have been more careful?

People don't complain about how over powered a 10 point melta upgrade is when it blows up a 200 point Monolith or 250 point Land Raider, but scarabs that require you to buy a lord or overlord to field somehow take all the stick.

Olinser (4 months ago):
Matt, I'd say for vehicle squadrons since you can't target individual vehicles (i.e. one vehicle has a weapon blown off, the other doesn't, you can't target the whole vehicle with your S10 AP1 shot), you roll against the majority AV of the unit.
Olinser (4 months ago):
It's official. Mind shackle scarabs are stupid. A 15 point upgrade gives you a 50% chance to completely neutralize a monstrous creature's round of combat in ADDITION to more than likely causing serious damage to it and forcing a loss?

It's not Matt's fault, its the creators fault for thinking this is a good idea.

The very fact that in multiple battle reports Matt has assaulted units with Warriors that he would normally have zero expectation of winning and coming out ON TOP - a Trygon, Obliterators, Demon Princes just to name a few - should show how broken this upgrade is.

Gorefangz (4 months ago):
@maverick935: Exept that your the one army we can beat in close combat withought taking any cc units. So we have no need for mss, we just make the board night fight turn after turn.
T-Rav (4 months ago):
you should paint that bio-titan behind you....
NiteLance (4 months ago):
For me, the biggest coup for the FAQ is the Chronometron/Imotekh clarification.
generalguy (4 months ago):
just my opinion on the hitting a squadron of vehicles. since they are a squad would it not make sense to use the majority armor value for what you hit on?
maverick935 (4 months ago):
Play Tau, then watch necron players be very dissapointed on what a waste of points mindshackle scarabs are (assuming they actually get that close)
TyranidSwarmlord (4 months ago):
@Nighthawknm: fail thats Matt lol
Nighthawknm (4 months ago):
Great video Dave but the FAQ states that "sweep attack" of the command barge is noe a close combat attack. The obliterator states that the shock wave happens after the death of a model in a close combat attack.... :o(
Rlyehable40k (4 months ago):
Good video. However, it is 45 degrees from a fixed weapon, not 90 degrees (i.e. 22.5 degrees from the center line of the weapon). See MRB p.59, with special attention to the illustration.
ben-guthrie@rogers.com (4 months ago):
Hey matt, just wanted to correct you on the hull mounted being 90 degrees. The entire arc is 45 degrees total, 22.5 in each direction. I'll refer you to page 59 of the brb, the diagram of the vindicator.
Ome (4 months ago):
The mind shackle scarabs I meant. I'm actually rather fond of the angry tank eating bug swarms.
Ome (4 months ago):
Nice to see the scarabs are still broken...

Though on a less gripey note this did actually clear up alot.
