I've seen other people paint these Mr dandys, but they didn't look cartoony at all its the paint job of the eyes.

I much prefer the GW kits. The MrDandy kits look more like cartoon bears than wolves.

In my opinion, the GW models are far superior. The "cartoony" feel just doesn't work for 40k.

I myself am starting a Space Wolf Army. It seems like there are two types of space wolf styles.

The original being considered "cartoony" by many, with lighter colored armor. The newest being the ultra-realistic style.

These two styles seem to be consistent for most armies, but quite obvious for the space wolves. The GW thunder-wolves are superior in their realism and poses. They are much more organic, whereas the latter seem cartoony.

I myself am going for the lighter colored space wolves "cartoony look", and am going to use the reaper triad of paints that ptgraham uses.

Both styles are aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but I prefer tradition/ rogue-trader style armies (bright colors, checkered patterns, heraldry, etc.)

You guys do amazing work! Cheers!
