The X'Lanthos would make sense to be not so good a CC compared to humans. That doesn't meant they will go down easy. I think they would fight rather clumsily, but they would be able to take a beat. Perhaps have a particularly high armour value.

Going by their concept art, the X'Lanthos seem like they would make for a good "powerhouse" faction, i.e above-average in terms of firepower, durability and such, but fewer numbers overall compared to the other factions.

They look like they should be good (if not great) at both close AND ranged combat, though their highly advanced appearance would suggest a preference for the latter.

I personally think X'lanthos should have good close combat since they kind of look big and brutish.

Okay, half of my post disappeared:

I would prefer to be able to tell if the aliens are wearing clothes or not. The concepts right now seem blended together and I can't tell if they are naked or wearing thick armour, or that is like a natural carapace or something. Excited for more though!

It looks great, but since they looks like a primarily ranged army, they should have larger eyes, those tiny things wouldn't really give enough enough ability to see very well.

I've only known about you guys for maybe almost a week and found out about this not too long ago.

I love what you're doing. Just got done watching ALL of your vlogs for this.

I really hope you get the animals right because I'd like to play them or the bandits (everything has an appeal actual, aliens normally don't interest me but the X'Lanthos look awesome).

Can't wait!!!!

Please make terrain packs like flags and random bits to add to the feel, and throwing an idea out there what do you say about a hybrid modle for the aliens, like a human/ cyborg puppet that they control to locate other humans to harvest? That also brings up the idea of kinda a dog like tracker creature for dome stealthy stuff like it has bio/mines which blend into the environment as a spore and poisons human factions on contact. If you are interested in anymore ideas I have you may contact me at Cooparmy94@yahoo.com

That commander strikes me as kind of a very techno-organic terminator type critter. Looks awesome.

i like the x'lanthos they look cool but on the commander maybe some frills or bayonets or something showy so we know he's the commander maybe he could have a halo like plasma sword and the rifle ok love DP havent donated yet sorry my space wolves give me puppy dog eyes begging for terminaters and i can't say know well good luck my little pony forever

Yay! Corporation!

Also, on the X'lanthos- In the concept art I saw a gun with a two part barrel that kind of spiraled around itself (3rd pic, the X'Lanthos in the bottom left corner). I thought that was really cool. Caught my eye because I don't recall seeing that kind of weapon in other recent popular sci fi. You mentioned these aliens lookin Nid like? I'm a long time Tyranid player myself and I think those spiraling barrel "things" didn't look a thing like the nid's bioweapons. Something to consider? Hmm?
Vehementi (Over a year ago): - delete
I've always liked the idea of having a spotter with sniper units, who has no shots of his own, but improves the accuracy of the rest of the unit.

Absolutely loving the X'Lanthos concepts, look badass. So far they're the army I'm going with.

Maybe you should give the X'lanthoss more technical stuff than weapons that looks like their body.
orkybenji (Over a year ago): - delete
xlanthos look like protoss kind of. I think the xlanthos should be similar to the space marine concept (in play) in that they are relatively expensive (pointswise) and excel at all combat types. They seem pretty elite, are bulkier than humans, and have extreme technology. I think they'd be best as very powerful, low numbers, high tech units.

littlemon (Over a year ago): - delete
I think the reclaimers should excel in close combat given there power suit things.

so are we going to be seeing the Reclaimers as the third stater set?

DarkPrinceRaven (Over a year ago): - delete
I really like the X'Lanthos BECAUSE they're a little bit Niddy. I like that whole biological alien look. I agree with other comments saying that the X'Lanthos would make a great elite sort of army, like Grey Knights. Good in both combat and range, but with a higher points cost and thus smaller army.

im still not feeling the x'lanthos but i cant figure out why. sorry
Philamilapeed (Over a year ago): - delete
I think the basic X'lanthos troops should excel at range and be above average in combat, but either have smaller squads (3 or 4 guys) or greater point cost. There's no need for them to "suck" at anything - being an elite army - and as you said, starter sets will not be balanced.
